A billion dollar company sued @ImpossibleHQ. Then they sued me personally.
Now, after 1790+ days of litigation and 3.5 years on the job, the latest CEO just quit the company.
The trial is next week.
LFG
For the last 4.5 years, a billion dollar fake meat company has been suing me & my company @ImpossibleHQ for our trademarks.
Their founder left, they’ve gone through 2 CEOs & 4 major law firms trying to get rid of us.
The trial is in 2.5 weeks.
Here’s the story 👇🏼
When Impossible Foods sued me 4.5 years ago, a bunch of people had things to say.
↳ You're totally screwed.
↳ You'll never make it to trial.
↳ They have a billion dollars. Make that 2 billion dollars. Actually, they're worth $10 billion dollars.
*You should just give up*
It didn't matter that I started my brand 6 years before they ever launched a burger. They were big, we were small. The little guy loses - that's how its supposed to go. Right?
Actually - the little guy isn't even supposed to try.
But we fought back.
And even after we had the case thrown out once. Impossible Foods doubled down, appealed. Then, they sued me personally.
Pretty cool behavior from a company that tells the world they're "saving the planet" (by any means necessary apparently).
When they sued me personally - the voices chimed in again:
↳ "That is crazy"
↳ "That is unfair"
↳ "That is impossible"
"There's no way you'll be able to have your day in court"
Well the IMPOSSIBLE isn't just the name of our brand at @ImpossibleHQ - it's what we actually do.
So we kept going. And as it turns out - we have a trial coming up in about a month (Impossible Foods Inc. v. Impossible X LLC, 5:21-cv-02419, (N.D. Cal.) if you're tracking at home).
Oh, and the whole thing about it being Impossible? GOOD.
That's how we like it.
(Remember, if you're going through something. Keep going. You got this).
