The #Massachusetts House will decide whether to include the Physician Pathway Act in its omnibus economic development bill tomorrow. If included, the bill will promote a pathway for internationally trained physicians to practice. [1/2]
Per @MigrationPolicy, 165,000 immigrants & refugees with undergrad health degrees from abroad are underemployed, including 13,000 in NY. S7002B aims to address similar disparities by expanding pathways for internationally trained physicians to practice in NY. Support this bill!
Without action, Dr. Islam & many other internationally trained doctors may soon be unable to practice in #NewYork. Bill S7002B needs to pass by June 6 to ensure qualified physicians can continue providing essential care & address health care shortages.
