It's Losoito's birthday and to celebrate, she's having a party in the mud bath. Judging by her exuberant splashing, you (and our Keeper filming) are all invited too!
Our Keepers have been with Losoito every step of the way – including the muddy bits – since her rescue in 2023. Back then, one of our pilots spotted her traversing Tsavo West with an unlikely protector: a large wild bull. Orphaned calves sometimes seek refuge with bulls, but it's only ever temporary and at two years old, she was too young to survive without milk.
Today, she is safe, loved and surrounded by family in our care. We call her our "little munchkin" – delightfully short and stout, with an outsized personality and a determined little run you can spot from a mile away.

Enter Kaikai's orbit and you are fair game to be co-opted into her fun!
She is the youngest member of the Kaluku herd and approaches every single day – and everything in it – with the energy of a tiny force of nature. If you asked her Keepers to describe her, they'd say something like: quick-witted, curious, and utterly convinced she is the centre of the universe.
She was rescued as a days-old orphan from the Mara – making her survival a hard-won success: https://t.co/kDln4jg4mO
A new arrival today who badly needs our help.
Being surrounded by sick dogs in need always reminds me how lucky I am and how much off some people / creatures have it in life.
They all have a bright future though ❤️
939 snares removed. Hundreds of animals saved from being maimed or killed.
That's the impact your donations are having in Tsavo, funding our teams of rangers who not only patrol tens of thousands of kilometres on the lookout for illegal activities, but also fight fires, rescue orphaned animals and track injured wildlife. You might not be walking the trails with them, but it is your support that keeps our boots on the ground.

This is why Peter Capaldi is my favourite Doctor..back in early 2017 I was struggling a lot with my mental health and my mum saw I was looking at ways to commit suicide so she and my sisters got in touch with Peters agents and gave them my email then I got this which stopped me
Some woman’s hour. Next they will be having males telling us why it feels like to have menstrual cramps or endometriosis etc… oh wait- that already has happened….
Because the bbc chose a male out of all the millions of women in the uk to talk about misogyny on women’s hour ! Sometimes I really think we’re through the looking glass! It’s hard not to think they now do it deliberately.. it’s as if they hate women
Barbra Streisand’s tribute to Robert Redford literally brought me to tears. I did not expect her to break out into song but when she did, it totally broke me. This has been an exceptionally emotional #Oscar night but done with absolute class & thoughtfulness. What a moment.

🚨ROSEANNE BARR DESTROYED THE “WHAT IS A WOMAN” QUESTION IN TYPICAL RAW UNFILTERED NO-NONSENSE STYLE 😂💥
Piers Morgan: “Roseanne, what is a woman?”
Roseanne doesn’t hesitate, doesn’t sugarcoat, just unleashes the most gloriously unapologetic answer ever:
“A woman is me. Somebody whose breasts hang down to her stomach and who has a prolapsed uterus from giving birth to five ungrateful little b*stards who’ve never had to work a day in their goddamn life. That’s what a woman is.”
Delivered straight-faced. Piers loses it laughing. Brilliant! 😂😂
Turn your sound on. That rumble is Kaikai saying good morning to her favourite people: her Keepers!
Seven months ago, she arrived at Kaluku as a fragile newborn. Incredibly vulnerable to the elements, we would place a cosy blanket on her back when she left her stable each morning to keep her warm and ward off the chill. Today, stronger and chubbier, she has no need for a blanket – although she still spends her nights resting her head on a soft bed of hay.

In November 2010, our SWT/KWS Ziwani Anti-Poaching Team moved in to rescue a young orphaned elephant – and a lion leapt from the undergrowth and grabbed her by the neck. A KWS ranger fired shots into the air. The lion released its grip. And Ishanga, bleeding and paralysed by fear, was loaded into a Land Rover, then flown to our Nairobi Nursery.
What followed were weeks of painstaking patience. Wild-eyed and terrified, she refused to let anyone near. She grappled with nightmares long after her wounds healed. But slowly, steadily, she healed.
Today, Ishanga is living back in the wild, one of the success stories of our reintegration process. And over the weekend, she walked back to her old home to introduce her brand-new daughter to the Keepers who raised her.
