@omgmaddie Hahaha. I think 100mil people on earth play golf. And their average income is above $100k. They’re in the top 5% percentile of income earners in the world. Golf facilitates human connection amongst elites.
Introducing Runway App Studio.
Build the creative app you wish existed, just by describing it. It generates images, video and audio with Runway’s models and your Brand Kits, ready for you or your whole team. No code required.
See examples in the thread below.
I’ve been playing with App Studio for almost half a year now, and these days most of Runway’s internal tools are built in-house. That includes our own video-optimised Figma clone, character creation engines and fully functional synthesisers. It also includes this location scouting app, which generates satellite imagery, builds a 3D model of the landscape and lets you capture location shots that get saved across the whole map for cross-referencing.
With App Studio you can build whatever you want, for whatever you need, on state-of-the-art architecture, security and compatibility.
Oh, and this video? I made it with another app I built in App Studio.
I think my impression of Runway branding a few years ago was that it's about arthouse style filmmaking, this was especially typified by the flagship event, the Runway AI Film Festival that I attended in Los Angeles and New York. It seems that has shifted to something more techie? To be honest though, I'm most looking forward to the Live Interface model I saw @c_valenzuelab demo a few months ago. That looks really exciting and provocative from a production point of view.
The sheer volume of AI content from countries around the world is staggering and audiences are HUGE.
The argument that there is no audience for AI content is NONSENSE. And get this, NONE of these are short videos. They're getting longer and longer.
Here's some examples:
989K Views in 4 Days. The Last Dance in Kippur by Kareem Abdel Wahab from Egypt - https://t.co/BSP0JG3Dgs
1.2 Mil views after 2 weeks. Muay Thai Fighter Crosses Into Another World (นักมวยไทยทะลุมิติ) by Aetheris Cinetmaic from Thailand - https://t.co/oQP8nxi9jI
110k Views since Oct 6. NABI: She Doesn't Knock by K-Fantasy Lab from South Korea - https://t.co/1C8O5ZIlut
These films just scratch the surface of what's happening worldwide. Open your aperture. The flood is coming.
I have multiple agents researching the internet everyday to find top AI creators, filmmakers, and creatives and the most viral or best AI films and work, and my mind is blown. I clearly live in a bubble and there’s wayyyyy more AI content than I thought. And a lot of it is amazing.
Well, this must be quietly pissing off a lot of people. But I just can’t fade Higgsfield. They ship very fast and they’re the best in marketing in our GenAI creative industry. The entire industry is trying to catch up to them and they only arrived onto the GenAI space in earnest a year ago. Before that, they were still in pre-PMF stage. It is very impressive progress.
This reminds me of other early cycles in tech, including ride sharing, group buying, ecommerce, and early social media. Each phase was accompanied with massive marketing spend and tactics: Uber with their creative marketing and bullying and acquisitions, Groupon with aggressive marketing spend, copying, and competition, Amazon vs https://t.co/jQRoGwO8mM, and Facebook vs everyone.
In this case, it’s like if Lyft arrived onto the scene a year later and beat Uber at marketing. Just a year and a half ago, it was Runway, Luma, Midjourney, and a few others who mainly dominated the conversation.
But the mechanics here are different from these previous cycles. Higgsfield is reselling new models (Seedance mainly, today) while also trying to ship features, new UI, and API all at the same time. That’s to win both consumer and enterprise GenAI markets. They have to win over the casual consumer, the marketing person, and the executive. And on top of that, there’s less acquisition potential. Facebook acquiring Instagram makes sense because that’s a new interface with new users/demographics locked into a network effect on photo sharing. GenAI customers are much more disloyal and network effects aren’t as sticky. The value then accrues to who can maintain mindshare and brand recognition.
It makes sense that Nvidia is investing in Higgsfield because their thing is getting more people to spend money on tokens, which thereby sells more GPUs. Higgsfield is spending boatloads of money to create a new market, very similar to what Uber and Groupon were doing in their early cycles. Their marketing dollars essentially created the demand for a new service that is now commonplace. Nvidia wants everyone to be using AI everyday. Why not fund the biggest marketer in the space to accelerate that?
Jensen Huang: “… the founders of Higgsfield are visionary in the work that they do … but these are some of the brightest people in the world.”
We're grateful to Jensen and the teams at NVIDIA and TCV for believing in us. Both companies have joined Higgsfield as investors in our Series B
extension.
Since our August Series B:
• We’ve crossed $1 billion in annualized revenue.
• Enterprise contracts are up 71%, growing 100%+ month-over-month
• We’ve grown from 30 million to over 40 million users globally.
TCV has backed Netflix, Facebook, ByteDance and Spotify, companies that changed how people create and consume media. NVIDIA has powered every generation of Higgsfield, from L40 and A40 GPUs through Hopper and Blackwell, with Vera Rubin next to meet growing demand.
Thank you to our creators and customers for building with us every day, and to everyone at Higgsfield whose work brought us here.
