One year.
In my life I have cried over unworthy men, over unworthy "friends". I've cried over unworthy jobs, unworthy bosses & even "missed" opportunities. None of them worth any of it.

The river I cried over you, dear Roscoe, was worth ever single tear though. Letting you go the way we had to was the most painful thing I've ever had to go thru and you weren't even mine. You were Lewis's baby through and through. I loved you like you were mine though.

When Coco went so suddenly, I felt I had to help ensure you lived a long, healthy life. I saw how you were held sacred in the most tender place in Dads heart & I knew I'm good caring for sacred things. Secretly, you& I both knew you were the one taking care of Dads. So I paid close attention to your wellness. You made it so easy. You loved everything we did for you-vets, acupuncture, lasers, even the broccoli! Thru a lot of practice, you taught me to advocate for w the vets in I never had before.

When you came down w a resp infection, it never occurred to me that something could go wrong inside the animal hospital. I thought you'd receive treatment & bounce back like before. Not to be tho. So you summoned Dads bc you needed him & you knew he'd move mountains to come quick. In your cheeky wisdom, this was your way of having us not only be there for you, but also for each other as we had to walk thru a ferocious week.

After you were gone, i experienced a grief like no other. I learned society has odd rules about grieving and even more about grieving dogs. So I retreated& cocooned myself because you were worthy of it. I'm still growing through it. There's more to say-but not today.

Today I know your grandma Brenda was looking at pictures of you and your Auntie Sam, too. Also uncle Spinz was thinking about you and reminiscing about how loved you were. The kids talked about you today & said a prayer for you tonight.

I think about you all the time. We know who thinks about you the most though & I know you're still trying to take care of him from the invisible realm.

Roscoe I will love you forever, may you & coco be wrestling like lunatics at heavens gate and lifting the angels up.
