I sincerely thank the leadership of our great party APC, respected stakeholders, elders, youths, women, supporters, and every single person who stood by me with prayers, support, and encouragement throughout this journey. I am deeply honored by the trust and confidence you have placed in me.
This affirmation is not just about me alone, it is about all of us and our shared vision for a better, stronger, and more progressive Kano Municipal. It is a clear sign that our people believe in unity, development, and purposeful leadership.

Hon. Nabil Sarki Aliyu Daneji
Member, Kano State House of Assembly
Kano Municipal Constituency
Bukola Saraki’s Tenure as Senate President (2015–2019)
1. Legislative Performance
During his leadership of the 8th Senate, a significant number of bills—estimated between 200 and 270—were passed, marking one of the most productive legislative periods in Nigeria’s history. The Senate also addressed numerous public petitions, contributing to increased citizen engagement and responsiveness.
2. Landmark Legislation
Several notable laws and reforms were enacted, including:
* The Not Too Young To Run Act, which expanded political participation for young Nigerians.
* The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) Act, which strengthened anti-corruption mechanisms.
* Reforms to the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), aimed at improving the business environment.
* The Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB), designed to enhance transparency in the oil sector (though not fully enacted).
* The Police Reform Bill and Credit Reporting Act, which contributed to governance and financial system improvements.
3. Economic and Social Reforms
The Senate prioritized policies to enhance the ease of doing business and stimulate economic growth. It also supported increased healthcare funding, including the allocation of 1% of national revenue to primary healthcare, and promoted collaboration between the public and private sectors.
4. Youth Inclusion
Youth empowerment was a central theme of the administration, particularly through legislative support for broader political inclusion, most notably the Not Too Young To Run Act.
5. Democratic and Institutional Impact
Saraki’s emergence as Senate President reflected cross-party cooperation, which contributed to democratic consolidation. The Senate also played an active oversight role in addressing national issues such as security, economic stability, and public welfare.
6. Development-Oriented Legislation
The passage of laws such as the North East Development Commission Act demonstrated a commitment to rebuilding regions affected by insurgency and promoting national recovery.
