Families across #Lebanon are facing growing challenges, with nearly 1/4 of the population experiencing acute food insecurity.
With the support of 🇨🇦 @CanadaDev , WFP continues to deliver emergency food assistance to vulnerable families across #Lebanon, including those displaced outside shelters.
Canada’s contribution is helping @WFP reach people wherever they are with critical support.

Nearly 50,000 people are returning to southern Lebanon, but over 100,000 remain displaced in shelters as insecurity and destruction persist.
Ongoing hostilities, UXO risks, and funding gaps continue to limit access and humanitarian response.

3/3 We met Zeinab, a teacher from a border village, who lost was severely injured after a strike hit near her home. Her daughter now lives with only partial vision. Displaced again and again, they refuse to give up, holding on to dignity, strength, and hope despite everything.
🧵1/3 Visited Saida, South Lebanon 🇱🇧 today with @Herve_Magro@CaroitEleonore 🇫🇷, @JennyChapman 🇬🇧, @OCHALebanon & partners, we heard firsthand from families who have endured repeated displacement and trauma.
2/3 At El Lebnanieh El Kuwaitieh Public School, a collective shelter for displaced persons, we met with site management and witnessed the impressive efforts of LHF partners at the forefront of the response delivering essential services to those most in need.
Displaced families continue returning to southern areas since the announcement of the regional ceasefire. However, more than 106,000 people remain in collective shelters across the country, and many more remain displaced outside of them.

Young people have a vital role to play in shaping a future free from hate.
By choosing dialogue over division and respect over prejudice, they help strengthen the social cohesion that #Lebanon needs now more than ever.
#NoToHate
Countering #HateSpeech requires partnership.
Gov’ts, communities, civil society, the media & @UN all have a role to play in promoting dialogue, respect &understanding.
Together, we can help ensure that diversity remains a source of strength for #Lebanon, not division. #NoToHate
Despite challenging conditions, a growing number of families are going back with the hope of staying, even as they face ongoing insecurity, widespread destruction and limited access to basic services.

From clearing roads of unexploded hazards and providing security escorts to humanitarian convoys, to reopening vital roads damaged during recent hostilities, peacekeepers support stability and safety in line with Resolution 1701.
Since renewed violence in south Lebanon, repairing roads & bridges has been a core task for UNIFIL peacekeepers. These repairs support mission mobility and help ensure access for humanitarian actors in areas affected by ongoing hostilities & displacement.

Throughout my visits across #Lebanon, I have seen firsthand how older persons &persons w/disabilities are disproportionately affected by displacement &conflict.
They must remain at center of our humanitarian response. Leaving no one behind is not a slogan, it is an obligation.
People with disabilities need our support, especially when displaced.
In North🇱🇧, @hospital_rahma supported by the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund is providing mobility aids &essential supplies for people with disabilities in shelters, helping them move &live with dignity.
