#WATCH | Chandigarh | On the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Congress MP Manish Tewari says, "It is a victory for the young students who have been protesting across the country. It is a vote of no confidence in all those who perpetrated some of the worst atrocities and brutalised young men, women, and children who were exercising their legitimate right to dissent. This resignation represents the power of the people. It demonstrates that the government, however obdurate it may believe itself to be, ultimately has to bow to the will of the people. In that sense, it is a victory for the student and youth movement in India, especially for Generation Z; their fearlessness in standing up to unprecedented state excesses, the use of coercive force, lathi charges, and pellet guns without flinching and enduring those hardships with remarkable fortitude is truly commendable. This is a victory for all of them."

The inauguration among others , was attended by Sh. I have always endeavoured to keep the imperatives of development above partisan politics.

On 24 th August 2022 when @PMOIndia came to inaugurate the Dr Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre ( Tata Memorial Centre ) situated in New Chandigarh as MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib I was present on the occasion. Today that Tata Memorial Centre is a lifeline for thousands of Cancer Patients from across the region.

On the 17 th of July 2026 when @PMOIndia again Inaugurated a slew of development projects located in the Chandigarh and my erstwhile Parliamentry Constituency of Sri Anandpur Sahib I was again present on the occasion because these projects will help better the lives of people that we have been elected to serve.

Over the past 45 years as a political activist I have seen how our politics systematically breaking down .

It has turned increasingly toxic and corrosive where political rivals are now considered as mortal adversaries.

Delhi today epitomises this broken politics.

However am still a little ‘old school ‘ who still believes in certain basic courtesies and tenets of protocol and above all keeping the imperatives of development above partisan politics.

THAT IS WHO I AM IRRESPECTIVE OF WHO MAY THINK WHAT !

#WATCH | Chandigarh | Congress MP Manish Tewari says, "When we passed the Women's Reservation Bill in 2023, it was Sonia Gandhi's initiative, her commitment that when the UPA government was in power, this bill was first passed in the Rajya Sabha. At that time, some political parties in the Lok Sabha had several apprehensions about it... The Constitution states that one-third of the seats will be given to women based on the census that will take place after 2026 and the subsequent delimitation. Now, they have called this special session (of Parliament). Until now, they have not explained what amendments they want to bring. Meanwhile, this session could have been called even after April 19, when the second phase of elections in West Bengal would have been completed. There is a political motive behind this..."
