What Morocco is facing right now goes beyond sport. Fake news and twisted narratives are spreading fast and they’re seriously damaging the country’s image and reputation!!
Shockingly, sometimes players compete at tournaments and still walk away with $0 in prize money.
@ingridNeel_ shares her story from the 2024 Madrid Open.
For years, the tours have touted increases in prize money, celebrating slow and minimal growth while ignoring realities like inflation and players’ out-of-pocket costs.
Bare minimum improvements are not enough. More professional tennis players must be able to earn a living from the sport that they drive.
🚨 Declaration from the GC of PTPA- key points
-SEVERAL players in Miami reported they were approached by ATP reps in locker rooms and other player only areas.
-ATP told the players the legal fees incurred to defend the suit would result in reduced prize money and pensions ⏬️
Important to note that we spoke to over 300 players prior to filing and everyone was extremely supportive. Including the top players.
The ATP/WTA has spread so much fear over the years that it’s not easy to put your name on this publicly. Player support for this initiative is undeniable.
🚨 WOAH…the PTPA has filed a lawsuit against the ATP, WTA, ITIA, and ITF:
“The plaintiffs allege that the defendants operate as a cartel by implementing a number of draconian, interlocking anti-competitive restraints and abusive practices.”
- A collusion to cap prize money
- The imposition of an ‘unsustainable’ and ‘draconian’ rankings system
- A disregard for the health and well-being of the players
- Financial exploitation and violations of privacy rights, as exemplified by random drug tests and the confiscation of players’ cell phones for the purpose of searching them.

Today marks a pivotal moment in the battle for fairness and integrity in tennis. I take pride in standing alongside a group of fellow players, both men and women, as one of the named plaintiffs in a comprehensive lawsuit targeting the ATP and WTA Tours, the ITIA, and the ITF. The time has come to demand accountability from these organizations and their complicit partners for decades of illegal practices, systemic player abuse, and exploitation that have tarnished our sport.
For the past few years, the PTPA, an organization I've worked on tirelessly since its inception, has made countless efforts to collaborate with the tours in hopes of achieving positive change for players. Despite these efforts and attempts to engage in constructive dialogue, we were met with resistance and a lack of meaningful action. It is because of this ongoing disregard for players that we were left with no alternative but to take action of our own.
For too long, players have been forced to accept a broken system that ignores our well-being, undervalues our contributions, and leaves us without real representation.
"The lawsuits expose a deeply entrenched, anticompetitive system rife with monopolistic control, conflicts of interest, economic exploitation, and blatant disregard for player welfare by the defendants."
These legal actions are a fight for today’s players, future generations, fans, and the future of our sport.
My commitment to this cause has never been stronger.
𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝘅 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘀.
Today, the PTPA and over a dozen players, on behalf of the entire professional population, filed a sweeping series of legal actions against the ATP, WTA, ITF and ITIA to reform professional tennis.

At this stage, if all players are treated the same and this is future precedent, I wouldn’t be bothered, but we all know it won’t be. Why can’t we all be treated the same?
Tennis exhibitions but only the winner of the match gets money. That's how you do it lol brand puts a million bucks, two players battle it out best of 5. No theater, no bullshit, just fucking tennis.
One day I'll be doing that on my channel cause fuck these dumb exhos 😂
I took 19 months off as I had to make a “change to my team” too guys. Let’s not forget, mine was also contamination, and 2 other people also tested positive yet ITIA are appealing my case. 🤷🏽♀️ why is no one seriously looking into the corruption of the organisations that govern us?
