For 2 years, its optical sights orders went to a public-sector firm.

In 2024 and 2025, BDL bought them through competition, only from public-sector firms. Defence PSU India Optel won both times.

2026? Competition gone. PSU rule gone.
A "single tender" to just one private firm, Aindri Defence Advisory.

Per Indian Express:
-> It was set up in May 2024 by BDL's own ex-CMD Siddharth Mishra and his wife, 14 months after he retired.
-> His wife now owns 95%.
-> Company records show no assets. Its Hyderabad office was found locked.
-> The bid is ₹56.8 crore, with a 15-year maintenance tie-up.
-> And the reason for the "urgency"? Never spelled out.

Mishra, his wife and BDL gave no reply.
