Alex Hormozi explains why most cold outreach fails.
"It's about ticket size. The larger the ticket, the more specific the target, the more cold outreach is important. The less specific the target, the lower the LTV, the more content and paid ads are the better channels. 10 grand or more is a rule of thumb."
"You wanna be hunting whales, not hunting minnows with a harpoon. You could, it's just not efficient."
A lesson learned: Stay on top of your cold email infrastructure.
Yesterday, my provider changed all nameservers from their end.
Result:
→ 26 email accounts need manual name server updates
→ All accounts got disconnected from Instantly
→ 38/60 emails bounced (SPF, DKIM issues)
Took hours to fix.
Lessons:
• Don’t wait. Regularly check your setup
• Monitor SPF, DKIM, DMARC + domain health
• Always keep backups ready
Thankfully, only a small set of accounts was affected.
Converted a lead into a positive reply today (just an hour ago) 👇
Goal: reply within 5 mins
Missed it slightly while gathering resources
Thought: what if he’s not checking his email inbox anymore?
→ Got his number from Apollo
→ Sent a quick WhatsApp
He replied instantly
If not, the next step was a call
Multi-channel outreach (email + WhatsApp + calls) is working really well
Speed + channel switching = higher conversions 🚀
One of the hardest things to figure out before starting a business is what you’re truly good at. Most of the time, we confuse what we enjoy with what we actually excel at.
After a positive cold email reply, we always wonder why did they not transition to meeting or why they have ghosted. Ask them a simple question “May I know why were you not interested?”.
By just asking this simple question, you maybe surprised by the responses and feedbacks you get. Which instantly lets you realise what was missing or what needs to be improved.
One important skill that is needed to be learn is how you build your lead list. It’s not just downloading from those databases out there but strategically thinking at the same time custom scraping outside those databases when needed.
Just saw a a great cold email strategy in LinkedIn, wanted to share here as well.
After receiving a positive reply, instead of replying them with a follow up, this person directly called the lead and booked a meeting 💯
Here is the difference, if you had not send an email and called them directly, you would need to explain yourself.
However since, they already replied to us it showed an intent which made the calll not awkward at all. Thus having a higher conversion to booking a meeting.
Did a small tweak in my cold email campaigns. Started providing frictionless lead magnets. Love getting conversational positive replies rather than the usual "Yes" and going missing.
@SheilaVill2880 Once you give the clients the value they are going to get as free trials, clients have now moved to the next funnel, which would be pricing.
Will try out Scraper City soon!
Lead magnets that we are attaching to our cold email:
1) Fast Delivery
2) No risk from the client's end
3) Less or no effort required from clients
4) Results are visible
I always tell myself while I create content and share my learnings. It might not be worth it now. But when you take a look at it once you're successful, it's going to be gold.
