Why It’s Important:The first main developments of cotton textile production is found in the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain. If cotton hadn’t been exported to Europe, textile production wouldn’t be as easy as it is now,as it has developed a lot because of its rapid spread.
Cotton is a crop used to make multiple types of textiles. Cotton in South Asia and Egypt can be seen as early as 3000-2000 BC. It rapidly spread in those areas, then eventually became an important crop as it spread throughout the world as by 1500 CE.
The spread of cotton had a large impact, as the way cotton textiles were produced changed after it reached other regions. Before, cotton was processed by hand. But in 1760, Britain invented the spinning jenny and water frame - inventions that made this process easier and faster.

The Ottomans were a threat to Europe because of their extensive expansion under Suleiman the Magnificent during this time, so Vienna’s ability to prevent further expansion TWICE can be considered the start of Ottoman decline, as it stopped their expansion, therefore total growth.
The Siege of Vienna was a religious conflict where the Ottomans attempted to capture Vienna, the capital of the Hapsburg Austrian Empire. The Ottomans attempted this twice, once in 1529, another in 1683, and failed to do so both times.
Though being attacked by over 100,000 men sent from the Ottomans, Vienna’s ability to hold off the Ottoman’s (with only about 21,000 men) eventually led to the end of the Ottoman’s expansion in Central Europe and with it, ended the Ottoman’s threat in Europe.
