The look though following the tricolor of the Dutch flag, features a hint of orange which is a significant part of Dutch history, which can be traced all the way back to the Dutch royal family. The colors historical popularity is said to have been was popularized by Willem the Silent, and was even one of the three colors in the original Dutch flag.

This look takes inspiration from the color and design of the flag of the Philippines as well as the colors. It takes stylistic inspiration from the baro’t saya, which is a traditoinal ensemble worn by women in the Philippines.
