A young woman recently bought a new car and drove to a petrol pump to fill it up. She asked the attendant to add 85 litres of petrol.

After fuelling, the payment slip showed 85 litres, but her car’s meter displayed only 83 litres. When she questioned the difference, the staff claimed her new car’s meter was faulty.

An argument broke out and they asked her to leave or they would call the police. Instead, the woman called the police herself.
In the presence of the police, they drained and measured the petrol from her tank — it was exactly 83 litres.

She had been charged for 85 litres (a difference of just ₹500). The woman filed a complaint, and after investigation confirmed the tampering, authorities suspended the petrol pump’s licence for 7 days.

Vivek Agarwal's father was admitted to MAX Hospital. Seven members of his family were staying at the ill-fated Hotel Flourish Stays, where the fire broke out.

Not a single one of them survived.

Entire family was wiped out because some fire officer allegedly took a bribe to issue a fire clearance, some government babu never checked the building plans, and authorities ignored the illegal restaurant operating in the basement.

Now they will find the owner and put all the blame and act as if they are serious. But they won't allow anyone to talk about the system failure that made this tragedy possible.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the authorities to strictly enforce a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against illegal constructions within 15 km of the country's borders and demolish all such structures that have come up over the years.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has assigned enhanced responsibility to the district magistrates to ensure legal and financial compliance of banking transactions in the border areas by all banks, verify big business establishments, examine their funding sources, track mule accounts and false companies, identify fake Aadhaar cards and control cross-border smuggling, officials said.

Chairing a security review meeting in Bikaner on Tuesday, Shah assessed security-related issues concerning the border districts of Rajasthan along the India-Pakistan border.
