Americans are more likely to use full-sized vented dryers, which are easier to own in the US because people live in big, giant homes in car-dependent cities. Europeans are more likely to live in walkable neighborhoods, where they have to contend with space constraints and energy regulations. For these reasons, Europeans are more likely to use smaller, heat pump dryers that recycle warm air.

Vented dryers are "better" at drying clothes, but they can also be harsher. The hot air can dry out fibers, fade colors, and shrink garments. The lint you find in your dryer is the result of the material that has been taken out of your clothing. This reduces the lifespan of your clothes, but most Americans don't mind because clothing is often treated as cheap and semi-disposable.

Europeans are also more likely to rely on small front-loading washing machines, which are gentler on clothes. In the US, many people use top loaders, which are faster, easier to use, and less likely to have mold. But the central agitator can be harsher on clothes.

If you're able to — and I recognize not everyone can — it's always better to hang-dry your clothes, as this will extend their lifespan.

@BrewersBabes I would argue the lock out, and potentially salary cap, are why you shouldn’t do much. If you believe in your farm system and the players in it, there is zero reason to start sending out what will be cheap talent to the rest of the league for rentals.

@BrewersRaptor I don’t think they should be doing much of anything. If a lockout and possible salary cap are viewed as likely, spreading out your cheap prospect talent around the rest of the league for some rentals seems like a bad move.
