elle: greengreen_playextended arrives almost exactly a year after cortis made their debut. looking back at the past year, how do you think the five of you have changed as artists and as a team?
🦅 i think, personally, just having the experience of performing on stage has made us kind of reevaluate the way we make our music sometimes. now, when we’re in song sessions, we’re able to envision ourselves performing certain songs as we’re creating them, anticipating the vibe on stage from more of a different perspective, rather than just trusting our ears.
that’s probably the biggest change in terms of songwriting, but overall, i don’t think things have changed that much. we still have to come up with something new every time, and each time brings a new challenge, so in that sense, it’s still quite similar. the passion and drive to keep exploring new things never change.
elle: cortis has already had several moments go viral online, but a lot of your content also feels spontaneous and unpolished. do you consciously think about what might work on the internet, or do you mostly share whatever feels fun in the moment?
🦅 it’s just about finding what’s fun for us and what feels right. the content has to convince us first before it can connect with the fans. before anything else, we have to find it fun or interesting ourselves.
