Nobody should downplay just how unusual it is for a coach to get fired before even an exhibition game. Even coaches who are obviously disastrous hires generally get a season. The reality of what happened in Columbus is probably worse than what's come out to the public
Mike Commodore on @JasonGregor's show:
“Mike Babcock’s not an idiot. Connor and Leon are going to get treated like gold. It’s the 3rd and 4th liners, the 5-7 defensemen, the rookies, the arena staff, it’s people like that who are going to be abused.”
It’s so obvious they’re doing everything to try and get Iran to withdraw from the World Cup without having to say they don’t want Iran in their country.
NHL news nowadays is just like: Team considering hiring The Devil from The Bible as new head coach. Player’s three-team trade list consists of Hell, Hell 2: Electric Boogaloo, and Hell 3. The Vegas Golden Knights
I'm so glad the NHL brought back the guy who covered up the sexual assault of a player by a coach so that he could hire the guy who psychologically abused his players in three different markets. What a league.
Sources: The Edmtn Oilers are consulting with the NHLPA to see if there are objections that must be resolved before potentially hiring Mike Babcock. Amid allegations of invading players privacy, Babcock resigned in CBJ as Head Coach in 2023. Further investigation may be required.
i support players rights to go where their heart takes them but i also support fans rights to say “what the actual fuck is wrong with you you traitorous conniving maga scumbag” in return
Oh you want out so badly that you gave us three whole teams, two of which already win all the Cups plus one with no assets left to make a decent offer? Cool, you have five years left on your contract, see you at practice.
I’m generally pro-player and guys have the right to want to go elsewhere, but if Larkin’s whole list is really Florida/Vegas/Minnesota then I hope Yzerman plays hardball.
I’m ngl this logic of like “I spent money so I am basically god and can do whatever I want” is such a typical individualistic American perspective. Like no, you still live in a society! Your spent money doesn’t make you special
