Chapter 1179 to me already hinted Oda's intentions. Imu sees himself as a hero bound by Fate, he even tells the elders to cast away their old ways. This set up makes no sense if Imu goes back to being his 800 year old self. So I think the arc ends with Imu being changed forever.

I don't know exactly what will happen, but Imu, Hybrid Loki, and Luffy are going to end the arc with a massive bang. I can hardly wait once the side fights are over, Oda is going to go all out.

The fact that he hasn't shown Hybrid Loki yet speaks volumes.

@Cef_44 @VoidLoki04 @deauxpii Yes, Yami Yami Fruit can't nullify Haki but based on Imu's description. Omen, Domi Reversi and the Contracts are in the same latent category. And his Devil Fruit seemingly manifests them. So all BB has to do is take Imu's Devil Fruit and he can no longer manifest these 3 things.

Maki seems intertwined with his Devil Fruit, if it gets nullified, it stand to reason Maki goes too.
Imu has been sneak attacked and distracted before, he'll no doubt see Rocks and Davy in BB, I can see him taking advantage of it

Lusting after easily gained power, choosing servitude and envy all seem to be the same and Imu's Devil Fruit manifest them as Domi Reversi, Covenents and Omen. It stands to reason take his DF away and it goes.

Sommers said it's a counterpart. If BB nullifies his DF, it's possible Omen goes with it

I think Oda intend to take Imu in a different path from what final villain theorists want him to go.

Imu right now is weakened. He got sneak attacked by Hajrudin, Luffy, and Loki.
I can see him being distracted by BB whom he'll see as Davy Jones. Blackbeard will take advantage of it.
BB's Devil Fruit will counter Imu's Devil fruit abilities.
