Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Psalm 51:1-3
@needGod_net You can’t just take one verse; you have to apply the whole counsel of the Word of God.
“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, ‘If you continue in my word, you are TRULY my disciples.”
John 8:31
That means some believe, but they don’t do what they say they believe.
@HOME_TheWayHome@sola_chad I didn’t know a lot of this. Thank you for the insight! It makes sense that those who are alive when the resurrection occurs will experience what you explained, a sort of “rapture” or catching up so to speak. It all fits together like a puzzle— thanks for that last peace!

@HOME_TheWayHome@DrFrankTurek …cont—
Scripture says there should be multiple “shepherd teachers”/overseers/pastors/elders (all the same Greek word I think? Correct me if I’m wrong)
But I don’t think it directs us to give one or all of them a salary.
@HOME_TheWayHome@DrFrankTurek This is one of the things I’ve been thinking about. In your understanding of scripture, should the offering be distributed to the needy in the congratulation, given to the pastor as a salary, or both? “The laborer deserves his wages” yes, but wasn’t this for those on missions?
Your heart’s homesickness isn’t nostalgia.
It’s prophecy.
You were made for a world where nothing fades, breaks, or dies.
And that world is coming. (Rev 21:4)
@WolfteverRR@churchtalkative Post ascension:
(The Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave him…)
Revelation 3:12 “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God, and he will never go out from it anymore. And I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God”
@HOME_TheWayHome@CQ658 Beautiful. I agree with you.
It is coming from the pulpit. The church really needs reform on a few issues that people misunderstand because they listen to what people say, instead of what the Scripture itself says.
@sola_chad “Types” of Christ appear in many stories throughout the OT to point to Him— imperfect humans that act as “foreshadows” that symbolize Christ’s actions, including figures like Moses, Joshua, and Samson who acted as “saviors” to captive, wandering, or otherwise oppressed Israel.
@HOME_TheWayHome@CQ658 It is nice to hear a Christian say the new earth instead of heaven. I realize it’s a lesser issue, but it’s still good to have an accurate knowledge of where we will actually be.
