PAKISTAN: Ahead of the third anniversary of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ongoing detention, Isabelle Lassee, Amnesty International’s Acting Regional Director for South Asia, said:

“For three years, Pakistan’s authorities have systematically denied Imran Khan the right to a fair trial, subjected him to prolonged solitary confinement, and limited his access to medical care and visitation rights. He has not been allowed to meet his family for more than eight months and his vision has reportedly deteriorated significantly. Both he and his wife, Bushra Bibi Khan, have now been denied regular access to legal counsel since December 2025."

We have absolutely no reliable information on Imran Khan’s health. Imran Khan have never had any blood pressure issues. His normal blood pressure has always been on the lower side since he does regular exercise for several hours a day. So this disinformation being spread on Imran Khan has all the markings of the agency disinformation cell. Are they trying to set the stage for something more serious to happen to him? All those claiming credible sources are effecting their own credibility!

It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.

I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.

But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.

I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.

The army chief targeted my wife unnecessarily when she had nothing to do with politics.

A nation that is not willing to die for its freedom should be ready to become a slave.

If I step back from politics today, my life will go back to being normal.

The status quo forces will continue with their loot and plunder. The ruling elite is completely apathetic; all their money is stashed abroad.

PML-N will further get politically decimated when more inflation hits the nation.

At this time, the only hope is from the judiciary. I commend and salute those six judges who took a stand.

Judges should save the country's future because investment can only hail if the rule of law is established.

In a country where judges are being threatened, who will invest?

At this time, the nation is looking up to the judges.

The judges have to establish the supremacy of law for political and economic stability, and only then can we attract investment into the country.

Yesterday, our family met with KP ministers at the Islamabad High Court. We held a detailed discussion on the steps being taken to restore all of Imran Khan’s legal and lawful prison rights.

During the meeting, Ministers provided the following update:

1. There will be no surplus budget, as Imran Khan has consistently directed that all available funds be utilized for the development and uplift of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

2. The KP Government will not sign any agreement to transfer the Rs. 175 billion requested by the Federal Government unless the following demands are met:

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must receive its full share for the merged districts (formerly FATA) for the current fiscal year, amounting to approximately Rs. 300 billion. These funds are essential for the economic development and stability of the merged areas.

No agreement will be signed until all of Imran Khan’s legal and lawful rights are fully restored, including

1. The immediate transfer of Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for proper diagnosis, examination, and treatment by qualified specialists.

2. An immediate end to Imran Khan’s eight-month isolation and solitary confinement.
a) Restore weekly meetings with 6 family members, 6 members of his legal team, and 6 friends (political associates)

b) Restore his weekly phone calls with his sons.

c) Restore his access to books, newspapers, and other reading material.

These are the basic legal and human rights that must be respected and restored without further delay.

آپکو میجر صاحب نے ایک بار پھر استعمال کر لیا۔

میجر صاحب کی نظر یہ تصویر۔ میرے امریکہ آنے سے چند دن پہلے: عمران خان کے گھر میں ملاقات کے بعد کی تصویر۔

ویسے امریکہ آنے سے ایک رات پہلے انہی کے گھر میں رات 12:30am سے تقریبا رات 2 بجے تک میری اور خان صاحب کی ون آن ون ملاقات ہوئی تھی۔ جس میں بہت سارے میر صادق اور میر جعفروں کا زکر اور notes exchange ہوئے تھے۔ تب تک خان صاحب کو بہت سوں کی حقیقت کا پتہ چل چکا تھا۔ اس آخری میٹنگ کی تصاویر بھی موجود ہیں۔ چاہیئے ہوئیں تو بتا دیجیے گا۔

رہی بات شہزاد اکبر کی تو انہوں نے کیوں استعفی دیا تھا اس بات کا نہ آپکو علم ہے نہ ہو سکتا ہے۔ اس کا علم صرف دو لوگوں کو تھا ایک پرنسپل سیکرٹری اعظم خان اور دوسرا شہباز گل۔ آپ پارٹی پوزیشن میں بہت جونئیر تھے۔ آپکے سامنے انکو کب ہٹایا گیا۔ آپکا وزیر اعظم آفس سے تو کوئی دور دور تک لینا دینا نہیں تھا۔ عمران خان گرفتار ہونے سے ایک دن پہلے تک شہزاد اکبر سے رابطے میں تھے۔

چلیں آپکا یہ مسلہ تو حل کر دیا۔ ویسے یہ نان ایشو تھا۔

اصل بات خان کی رہائی اور علاج ہے۔ تو جب تک یہ مسلہ حل نہیں ہوتا۔ آپ نے بجٹ صرف مختصر مدت کے لئے پاس کروانا ہے۔ اور سرپلس بجٹ پاس نہیں کروانا۔ اور دوسرا KP کے لوگوں کا پیسہ جنرلز کی جیب میں نہیں ڈالنا۔

مزمل اسلم جیسے لوگ تحریک حقیقی آزادی پر بوجھ ہیں۔ شہباز گل اور مرزا شہزاد اکبر اس جدوجہد کے درخشاں ستارے ہیں۔ المیہ یہ ہے کہ یہ شکر خور عسکری اثاثے قربانیاں دینے والے اور مشکلات جھیلنے والے لوگوں کو اوورسیز ، ڈالر خور اور اس طرح کے الزامات لگا کر اپنا آپ چھپانا چاہتے ہیں۔مزمل اسلم اب بیرسٹر سیف جیسے انجام کے لیے تیار رہے۔

PTI leadership has requested opposition leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai that, if there is a time frame on the gathering outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday, they can mobilize 10,000 people. We welcome this proposal and have accepted their request.

On Tuesday, 16 June, we will gather outside Adiala Jail from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

A strong gathering of 10,000 people outside Adiala should create the necessary pressure to end Imran Khan’s prolonged isolation and ensure that his eye condition is properly examined and treated at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, in the presence of his family and personal physician.

This is a humanitarian and legal demand. The basic rights of a former Prime Minister and political prisoner must be respected.
