Je ne sais pas pour fable 5 mais on est clairement arrivé à un super phase de l'IA.
J'ai boostrapp ce projet en 1V1 compétitif avec tout le système classique de ranking Elo sur une stack autour de @colyseus cloudlfare et supabase.
En moins de 3 jours avec Opus 4.8, j'avais 100% des features et plus encore (en vrai) :
- matchmaking
- auth système
- moteur du jeu backend + frontend
- leaderboard
- un mode spectateur
- un mode replay
- un système d'ami
- des bots IA configurable sur 3 niveaux
- des games sur plusieurs cadences temps réel et une en différé.
En clair 90% des features de https://t.co/nC0jgW9Axp mais en 3 jours de dev.
Avant IA sur une équipe complète ça nous aurait pris des mois littéralement.
Pour les devs ici et là, mon vrai job c'est CTO, j'ai toujours accompagné des devs, je serais heureux d'en parler avec vous et de vous aider dans cette phase particulière !

Well, you could think that I abandoned you or even that Seven Cities is just another hack and slash that won't be finished, that would be cancelled, that won't pass the Kickstarter or worse that would make new classes paid after I just got bought out (okay that's a little jab but just because I'm his biggest fan doesn't mean he's gonna screw me over with Last Epoch :p).
As some of you may know, I've been a dad for the second time since July 2025, and also at the beginning of July I started a Technical Director position 3 days a week. I also think I needed to take a break from Seven Cities, because let's not lie to ourselves, it's a flop. I dedicated 5 years of my life to it, I clearly put my personal life, my wife, my daughter aside and I took a beating guys, you really need to have thick skin. And I needed this break also to understand what I should do with Seven Cities, to have a fresh perspective, something new. When you're too deep in it you don't see the problems anymore, you don't see the flaws. Proof: my wife is still here after 11 years, she doesn't see my flaws anymore either...
In the meantime, did I twiddle my thumbs? Well actually a bit on Seven Cities, I didn't make much progress, I fixed things on my side but I didn't have the taste for it. So I started a mini project, a multiplayer project, it's kind of a competitive OGame in 30-minute matches if you know OGame, if you don't know this little game it's kind of like Starcraft or Age of Empire but only in UI interface (so no real-time 3D/2D unit management). It allowed me to really level up my skills on multiplayer and especially level up on... AI! And yes, the new game is coded entirely with Claude in a somewhat atypical workflow that I set up for myself and honestly it's really cool. Either way our profession is evolving and I'm one of those people who force themselves to stay current, I've always done it and AI is now fully part of it. I'm kind of all-in on AI especially code processes, there's no AI on the Art side neither in Seven Cities nor in this new little game called: Space Olympus.
So is Seven Cities dead? No, my CTO mission ends at the end of the month and from there I'll push an update (within my means so rather light) once a month. I'll also, as I wanted to do from the beginning, transition to an F2P model for Seven Cities, FYI Space Olympus will also be F2P. I'll use what I know and master with AI to continue updates on Seven Cities, saving time and quality (I'm thinking about balancing for example but also optimization, debug etc...)
So we'll see how I manage to finance the rest of Seven Cities, in addition to what I just put back in the accounts, but I'll sell stupid collector packs anyway to finance the artists who will work on the project. And finally release a clean V1 that will of course be less ambitious than what I had in mind at the start. It's in any case one of the most beautiful projects of my life, a project on which I've never had so much energy.
I still have promises to keep, there are the Seven Cities goodies to send to the people I told I would, and I'll release as announced a series of videos to show how varied Seven Cities builds can be.
