The 48th meeting of Regional Contingency Committee (West) was held under the chairmanship of VAdm Rahul Vilas Gokhale #COS #WNC on 21 Sep 26 at #JointOperationsCentre #Mumbai to review various security measures and contingency plans for the offshore platforms off #WestCoast of #India. Reps of various member organisations participated in the meeting which focused on strengthening response mechanisms for maritime and offshore contingencies and aligning regional plans with emerging operational challenges.

VAdm Sanjay Vatsayan #FOCINC #WNC graced the prestigious event as the Chief Guest. Veteran #Bollywood Actor, #RazaMurad, also graced the evening as the esteemed Guest of Honour. Release of a special Postage Cover, Platinum Jubilee Coffee Table Book, 75 Interesting Clinical Cases, Handbook of Pediatric Oncology and 75th edition of magazine Asvini Calling highlighted the evening.

Ship’s Company and Civilian Staff were presented with Proficiency and Cash Awards by Surg Cmde Ashok Kumar Yadav, Officiating Commanding Officer, #INHSAsvini, to commemorate the event. Barakhana was also organised for Ship’s Company and patients.

#INHSAsvini observed its Platinum Jubilee on 18 Sep 26. The 75th Anniversary celebrations began with a musical evening on 17 Sep 26. VAdm Sanjay Vatsayan #FOCINC #WNC graced the event as Chief Guest. The evening was marked with scintillating performances by the members of 'Hamsadhwani', Asvini’s own musical band led by Surg RAdm Samir Kapoor #CMO #WNC and a soul-stirring solo performance by Surg RAdm Nirmala Kannan (Retd), former Commanding Officer, #INHSAsvini.

In a significant effort to prepare local youth for future career opportunities and enhance civil-military relations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 27 Aug 26 between #NavalDockyard Karwar and local Industrial Training Institutes based in Karwar, i.e. Shri Somanath ITI Binaga, Government ITI Baad, Mallikarjun ITI Siddar and Government ITI Ankola.

RAdm Ravnish Seth #ASD Karwar and Dr Dileesh Sasi, Chief Executive Officer, Uttara Kannada Zila Panchayat, were present on the occasion.

@MHSofIndia conducted the Monsoon Musings Lecture 2026 titled 'World War II: Maritime Operations in the Indian Ocean’ on 14 Aug 26 at Agastya Auditorium, #INHSAsvini, Colaba.

Delivered by Mr Mangesh Sawant, a global security and geopolitical risk expert, the lecture highlighted the strategic significance of the Indian Ocean during WWII, with particular focus on the Japanese strike on then Ceylon, now Sri Lanka. Key aspects of naval strategy, maritime intelligence, carrier aviation, operational security, and power projection were discussed, followed by an engaging interactive discussion.

VAdm Sanjay Vatsayan #FOCINC #WNC visited #INSTanaji and #CABS on 13 Aug 26 to review the ongoing infrastructure and op works at the station and #NADTrombay. A 25m Containerised Small Arms Firing Range (CSAFR) was also inaugurated at #INSTanaji.

Interacting with officers of #CABS, #FOCINC #WNC reviewed the progress of HR management initiatives for serving personnel and veterans of the #IndianNavy.

Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, #GOCINC #ARTRAC visited #INHSAsvini, School of Medical Assistants, and Institute of Naval Medicine on 16 Jul 26. He lauded the hospital for maintaining high standard of medical care with modern medical infrastructure and excellent tertiary health care delivery to the clientele. Emphasis on cross training visits amongst three services and sharing the good practices on Combat Medical Support alongwith building mental resilience were the key takeaways. He appreciated the efforts in innovation and medical research by the hospital.

To commemorate 75 Years of Excellence in Healthcare, #INHSAsvini with her motto ‘Caring and Curing’ and celebrating the Platinum Jubilee, conducted the flag-in run for #75DaysofFitnessChallenge on 12 Jul 26 with enthusiastic participation of Officers, Nursing Officers and Sailors totaling 387.

Finishers were felicitated by the Commanding Officer, INHS Asvini for their determination, discipline, endurance, and sports spirit.

An outreach activity was organised by INDC Danteshwari from 29 Jun to 01 Jul 26 for Primary School Children of #NCS Mumbai. This included diagnostic and preventive Oral Care by a team led by Paediatric Dentist. It benefitted nearly 1062 children and susceptible children were treated with preventive fluoride varnish application after parental consent. Oral health information pamphlets were distributed to all the children.

International Day Against Drug Abuse Awareness Programme #INHSAsvini conducted on 01 Jul 26. Enthusiastic participation from Officers, Nursing Officers, Nursing Cadets, young Medical Recruits, Sailors & their families through poster competition. They also participated in mindfulness activities, and an interactive panel discussion. Skit on adolescent substance abuse was much appreciated. @indiannavy reinforced our collective commitment towards a healthier, drug-free society.
