“Before entering Gaza, I asked my partner to bring me two pride flags: The first is an Israeli flag in pride colours that I pose with on a tank. It sends two messages:

There is an internal message to Israel: that we carry obligations towards the state and must demand gay rights here - not necessarily to marry and start a family, but something more basic - the right to security as LGBTQ people, the right to respect, the right to be part of the national ethos, the right to be counted and recognized

I decided to correspond with this by writing "Bismilahav" - which means "In the Name of Love"

Additionally, 'In the Name of Love' is a song by the band U2 that I really like!”

The amount of time, resources, and risk that the IDF is taking to evacuate innocent civilians of Gaza is unheard of and unparalleled.

And guess what. Contrary to popular belief, the IDF is not doing it to improve Israel’s public image.

It is pretty clear to all Israelis, that if the world does not stand by Israel after the events of October 7, the world will never stand by Israel.

The reason the IDF is doing this is simple. The IDF has always been and will always be the most moral army in the world, by a huge margin.

Israel continues to open up humanitarian corridors in Gaza, while Hamas continues to open fire, both on Israeli soldiers, and on innocent civilians trying to evacuate.

Israel does everything it can to minimize civilian deaths on both sides.

Hamas does everything it can to maximize civilian deaths on both sides.

If you make an equal sign between the IDF and Hamas, you are a dishonest bigot who is part of the problem.
