Mental health begins with feeling seen, safe, and supported. For children with a parent in prison, the emotional impact of separation and stigma greatly affects their well-being. No child should face this alone.#MentalAwarenessWeek

Defending the European Convention on Human Rights isn’t about defending an acronym or a piece of paper.
It’s about defending the principle that everyone deserves equal, permanent rights, whoever they are and whoever is in power.
With the politics of hate on the march, the last thing we should do is tear up safeguards protecting us from unrestrained power.
This week, in a debate led by Cat Eccles MP, politicians from across the parties clearly stood up for the Convention, defending fairness, accountability and justice.
Human rights are for everyone. And we will fight for them, always.

We were delighted to premier our film 'The Children Behind the Headlines' yesterday evening - and launch the campaign, in collaboration with @JRCSFoundation , to call for appropriate support for children impacted by domestic homicide.
Thank you to @Jess4Lowestoft MP for kindly sponsoring this event and @jessphillips MP for speaking at this event.
Thank you so much also to our panel attendees:
@CommissionerDA@SarahBurrows100

Thank you to @hetnanton for chairing the panel, and announcing the campaign and the context behind it. More details of the campaign will be on our website shortly.
Jordan and Harry, who feature in the film, were the 2nd and 3rd children we supported as an organisation back in 2014. We are immensely proud of the successfull young men they have become, and appreciative of their support in raising awareness of what is needed for children impacted by domestic homicide. Although our support has grown and developed since then, the issues for children with a parent in prison remain the same.
The film will be publicly released after a screening as part of our Parental Imprisonment Lived Experience Conference at Westminster Chapel on November 25th 2025.

On World Mental Health Day 2025, themed "Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies," we are reminded that mental health is a human right.
Let’s strive for a future where mental health is prioritized in our schools and communities.

It was fantastic to welcome our @networkcope colleague and friend Winie Hanekamp-Haisma from Expertisecentrum K I N D, along with researcher Joep Harmsen, to HMP Gartree last week. They joined our Supporting Children Affected by Imprisonment training for teachers and saw our Schools Toolkit in action.
When Natasha was 15, both her parents were in prison. On the Life After Prison podcast, Natasha eloquently opens up about her own experiences of parental imprisonment and the difficulty of processing these conflicting emotions without a trusted adult to talk to.
Natasha and our CEO @SarahBurrows100 also highlight what support should be in place for children, how Natasha came to be a member of Children Heard and Seen's Adult Lived Experience Group, and how we can all raise awareness of this issue and amplify the hidden voices of children with a parent in prison.
Thank you very much to @PrisonRadioUK for taking the time to shine a light on this often overlooked issue.
