The Indian Overseas Congress UK unequivocally condemns the brutal and racially charged attack on three Indian nurses travelling to work in London, in which a knife-wielding assailant targeted them while allegedly shouting racial slurs; such an act of violence against those who dedicate their lives to caring for others is abhorrent, unacceptable, and strikes at the core of our shared values of dignity, equality, and mutual respect.

We stand in solidarity with the victims and their families, call for a thorough and transparent investigation, and demand that the UK authorities, trade unions, and anti-racist movements act together and take decisive action to confront and dismantle racism, strengthen protections for minority and migrant workers, ensure justice and accountability for hate crimes, and actively promote safety, solidarity, and equality in workplaces and public spaces. The Indian Overseas Congress UK reaffirms its commitment to fighting all forms of racial hatred and injustice, and to building an inclusive Britain where such hate-fuelled attacks are not to be tolerated.

We urge Metropolitan Police, Mayor of London and Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer to ensure safety of all Indians in UK and take strict actions against the culprits.
