So proud of our 'Managing Worries' group. They have created such a kind and supportive listening space. One child articulated how a maths lesson had triggered her, "it felt overwhelming". She then described using box breathing to regulate herself until she felt calm.
In โTalking my Feelingsโ we explored the emotion of anger. We listened to some angry music and elicited language to describe this feeling. We painted an explosive volcano. In the session the children made spiders webs and did calm activities such as drilling, sweeping and digging
Our course 'Managing Worries' helps children understand the purpose of anxiety and builds awareness of their own body reactions. We learn how to be curious and listen to ourselves, we can then find better balance and wellbeing.
Today in 'Talking Our Feelings' we explored the felt sense of happiness in our bodies. We decided happiness was: swirly, sparkly, jumpy, yellow, soft, glittery, ticklish, fluffy, 'pachoooo'- firework, smooth.
