NEW: My latest investigation found that the Pottawatomie County jail concealed the deaths of 7 detainees who had mental health conditions, leaving vulnerable Oklahomans at risk and the married couple that runs the jail unchecked. https://t.co/DaGgSQ5TPv
The woman in the picture with a police officer is Helen Johnson from Tarrant, Alabama. She was caught stealing at a nearby Dollar General and the police were called to arrest her. The surprise of all is when the police officer arrived at the scene and asked her what she stole, she said, "Five Eggs To Feed My Hungry Children.". The police officer took her back to the supermarket and bought her groceries to feed herself and her kids. Miss Helena started crying and asked the police officer, "Sir, this is too much for you have done for me...". The police officer replied, "Sometimes we shouldn't apply the law but must apply the humanity!". ❤

"Based on the reporting so far, the police raid of the @MarionRecord on Friday appears to have violated federal law, the First Amendment, and basic human decency. Everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves," says FPF Advocacy Director @SethAStern. https://t.co/0OxnJBiKSq
After countless hours fighting to access the law library over the years at a private prison that profited off of his wrongful conviction. 49 years. 49... Oklahoma MUST do better!
We NEED an independent conviction integrity unit, NOW!
Today, Oklahoma crossed a dangerous line by approving the nation’s first state-funded church school. Unconstitutional and lacking oversight, taxpayers are now forced to fund religious indoctrination. A last-minute board member switch only adds to the corruption. This is an attack on freedom and accountability. @GovStitt@RyanWaltersSupt
There is a “no words” story coming out of McCurtain Co today involving county leaders discussing killing local journalists, flagrant racism & mocking a woman’s death from an arson. This is a community paper w/no online presence.

This is outrageous. This kid was stopped for walking his bike on the wrong side of the road. Days later he is dead in #OklahomaCountyDetentionCenter. This is what his so called crime looked like…
