It's pretty standard for news organisations to be doing this.

@Psyberus @simonahac@whatagreenidea We’ve implemented AMP on our clients websites and they have seen a significant increase in traffic as a result. Publishers need to actively develop the website in a way that allows google to display the website in this format. Google doesn’t just magically do it.
@Psyberus @simonahac@whatagreenidea Publishers choose to implement AMP. And the ads server are the publishers ads. The publishers also can track the visitors to an AMP page and count that as a user. If the publishers don’t want it they can turn it off at any time...
