I built a tiny Lovable with @pidotdev durable, @modal and @IncTerse Durable Actors.
Should I keep building this and make it a series? Maybe it becomes a software factory
@IncTerse is throwing the first (to our knowledge) Actor Hackathon at @ycombinator!
Join us October 31st and build same scary good agents, drink some coffee made by me, and build alongside the top builders in SF.
Prizes include:
- Guaranteed YC Interview
- iPhone duo
- Mac mini
- more to be announced soon!

Most common question I get is how @IncTerse Durable Actors are different from Cloudflare’s Durable Objects (besides us being open source).
Here are the main differences 🧵
one of the most requested features for durable-actors is Python SDK support. happy to announce it's finally here!
check out code + link to durable-actors in 🧵
These are the kinds of cool things you can build with me.
Every conversation is a durable Actor. This allows:
- only one person to be able to talk a time
- make the conversation go idle, and when you talk to character again, bring up the history as it was.
- fan out speech to all characters in the conversation easily.
And within the actor, a lot of cool logic. Namely:
- We use @typesafeai Jev to decide what info to divulge to you! (this is a murder mystery after all)
- @ElevenLabs to do text to speech.
Everything is dynamic! No two playthroughs are the same.
Oh and the front end is fully vibe coded with astra + @threejs.
we released durable-actors and are looking for the best way to stress test our infra.
we decided to build a multiplayer mystery game set in Victorian England powered by Durable Actors, @typesafeai Jev and @ElevenLabs.
check it out in the 🧵
Demo showing how you can coordinate agents with Durable Actors!
This almost won me the @ycombinator demo showcase.
lost in the finals to a robotic arm playing Doom 😭
Had dinner with the @IncTerse guys @karatzas_thomas and @oliviersm199. So much of what they’re doing just makes so much sense from first principles. For agent native software it’s a near perfect match. We’re moving over to their tech for @agent_relay and I’m super excited for it.
Terse can’t miss!
Introducing Durable Actors: Open source alternative of Durable Objects built for agent fleets and multiplayer AI.
Some key differences:
- configurable RAM, CPU and data residency per actor
- persist object properties durably by default
- we don't interleave requests on await by default
- allow exporting SQLite tables and offer fine grained o11y with CLI + MCP
@derekdfulton depends on fan-out. thousands of connections to a single actor, $0 egress is hard to beat. many DO, each with a couple users connected, uptime duration is the main cost, even with hibernation.
Terse is joining the YC F26 batch!
We are the open-source alternative to Cloudflare's Durable Objects, with configurable compute, data residency guarantees, direct access to Sqlite storage, a multi-tenant environment and concurrency safety by default.
And it's very fast!
Good luck F26!
iced coffee was on us today. the caliber is honestly insane, these companies look so much further along at day one than our batch was
just a few that stood out to me: @Simulithic, Plek AI, @IncTerse, Podesto…
