So the Pope met with David Axelrod last week. David Axelrod. Obama's campaign architect. A man who is not Catholic, has never met a pope before, and whose entire career has been engineering political narratives for the American left.
And then, by pure coincidence, the Pope immediately started lobbing shots at the Trump administration, and three US Cardinals popped up on 60 Minutes doing the same thing.
All organically, I'm sure.
I'm a practicing Catholic. I need you to understand that part. But in my opinion, Trump has all the right to lash out at him. Maybe you'll disagree, but in the end, Trump talks like Trump. Water is wet. I'm talking about MY Church being run like a DNC satellite office but with a golden throne.
This is the same Vatican that watched governments padlock churches during COVID and said nothing. That let Biden take communion while funding abortion and said nothing. That fired Bishop Strickland for defending actual Church doctrine. That removed Bishop Fernández in Puerto Rico for defending religious exemptions THE CATECHISM ITSELF supports.
But somehow Trump is the threat to human dignity.
Pope Francis was bad. Leo has turned out to be worse. Francis at least was vague about his politics. Leo went and hired the consulting firm.
The man has ignored the slaughter of Christians across Nigeria, the Sahel, India, Syria, Bangladesh, Pakistan. Hundreds of believers murdered, churches burned, pastors kidnapped. His response? Platitudes about dialogue.
OF COURSE he won't even name who's doing the killing.
But he'll fly across continents to make interfaith gestures the week after his people coordinated a media hit on a sitting US president.
The weaponization of belief is obvious. You get the Pope to pick a fight with Trump, and suddenly millions of conservative Catholics have to choose between their faith and their vote.
@LeaderJohnThune I cast my first vote in 1984 at the age of 32 (for Reagan) because my soon to be husband, a Vietnam vet, explained things to me.
Why did I never vote in the previous 14 years? Because I felt that the 2 parties were the same, 6 of one, half dozen of the other, why bother. Right?
Hello Senator Thune,
At 3 AM on Friday, March 27th, in a near-empty chamber, you passed a bill by voice vote that excludes all funding for ICE and CBP.
Let me repeat that: voice vote. No roll call. No record of who was there. No accountability. Just you, Barrasso, and a handful of senators shuffling paper in the dead of night while America slept.
You could have demanded a recorded vote. You chose not to.
You could have held the line for five more days until the House returned. You chose not to.
You could have used the same procedural tools Democrats have used against you for 40 days. You chose not to.
Instead, you gave Chuck Schumer exactly what he asked for, DHS funding minus immigration enforcement, and called it a win. Then you walked to the cameras and blamed the Democrats.
Let's be precise about what you did:
1. You caved to a demand Democrats made on Day 1 of this shutdown. Forty-one days of supposed hardball negotiation, and you settled for their opening offer.
2. You handed them a template. The next time Democrats want to defund any agency — ICE, CBP, or anything else — they now know: just shut down DHS and wait. John Thune will fold at 3 AM.
3. You punted to reconciliation. "Good possibility," you said. Not "we will." Not "guaranteed." Just maybe. Meanwhile, ICE operates on fumes from last year's bill with no certainty of future funding.
The precedent you set:
You have argued for months that the filibuster is sacrosanct. That the 60-vote threshold protects minority rights. That we cannot bend Senate rules for policy wins.
But at 3 AM on Friday, you bent every norm that actually mattered:
• Voice vote to avoid accountability
• Empty chamber to avoid debate
• Midnight deal to avoid scrutiny
• Immediate recess to avoid questions
You'll bend the rules to avoid a fight. You just won't bend them to win one.
What you've actually accomplished:
Democrats demanded ICE restrictions. They got ICE defunded.
Not reformed. Not restrained. Defunded.
And you're out here tweeting about how Democrats are the "Defund the Police" party while you just voted to defund border enforcement at 3 in the morning.
The question you should answer:
Why did this deal have to happen at 3 AM?
Why couldn't it happen at 3 PM, with cameras rolling and every senator on record?
You know why. Because you didn't want your voters to see what surrender looks like.
Here's my message: We saw it anyway.
Stop hiding behind "Democrat obstruction." You're the Majority Leader. You set the schedule. You control the floor. You chose this outcome.
Own it.
My first and last parent teacher conference was years ago when I enrolled my oldest son in kindergarten.
Three weeks into the school year, the teacher requested a meeting. She told me, “All your son wants to do is read chapter books and multiply.”
I asked, “Is that a problem?”
She said yes.
She explained he was bored and didn’t want to participate in the class activities. Then she suggested he might have autism because he didn’t work well with the other children.
I withdrew him that same day.
That was the beginning of our homeschooling journey.

🇺🇸 THE ULTIMATE AMERICAN REVENGE STORY 🇺🇸
The script couldn't have written it better. In 1989, Arthur Liu fled China as a political refugee after the Tiananmen Square massacre. He came to America with nothing but a dream for a free life.
Decades later, his daughter Alysa Liu became the face of Team USA.
But the CCP didn’t forget. Before the 2022 Beijing Olympics, the FBI uncovered a "brazen" spying operation. The target? Alysa and her father. The Chinese government tried to:
Stalk them on U.S. soil.
Intimidate her into silence.
Pressure her to turn her back on the country that gave her family refuge.
The FBI had to give them 24/7 security just so she could compete. 🛡️
She faced the intimidation. She refused to be a pawn. She walked away from the sport for two years to find her soul again—and then she came back with a vengeance.
TODAY, THE STORY IS COMPLETE. In a flawless performance to Donna Summer’s “MacArthur Park,” Alysa Liu just did the impossible.
🥇 OLYMPIC GOLD. 🥇 The first American woman to win individual gold in 24 years.
She didn’t just skate for a medal. She skated for the freedom her father risked everything for. She didn’t just win for herself; she won for the flag that protected her family when the world felt small.
This is what a Patriot looks like. 🇺🇸✨
