If anyone deserves compensation and a massive apology, it is Professor Suryanarayana Doolla.

What a travesty that a Professor, a Teacher, a Guru, who perhaps gave up a comfortable life where he could have earned millions was humiliated , suspended and punished by his own institution, falsely prosecuted by his country’s law enforcement machinery, for simply doing his job by catching a cheater.

Shame on all of us for tolerating this nonsense.

• A GC student scored 228/360 and secured AIR 614 in General Rank List but had to choose a lower ranked IIT because of branch availability.

- He stated that students should not ask each other's caste, as this can cause discrimination
- Teachers should not ask students about their ranks, as this can reveal their caste
- Students should make friends based on their hobbies and not on their caste

Actual reality of Professor Sooryanaryana, who has been suspended 🚨

Amrit is his student. He had many fights and disagreements with Doolla. They rarely had any agreements. But despite everything, Prof. Doolla was always there for students in need.

Whenever Amrit went to his office, he received more financial help than he could have imagined. Once, he asked for hostel fees and the professor paid him for almost 3 months.

He helped students even at 3-4 AM, stood by those who were ill and supported students admitted to hospitals. Amrit doesn't know the full truth about the current situation, but based on his experience, he believes Prof. Doolla is not someone who would threaten a student.

Even a student on Twitter claimed that the professor failed him in one subject but he never harassed him. Instead, he was encouraged to do better.

This is the kind of man people want arrested. Prof. Doolla deserved a better education system. We have failed him 🙏

IIT Bombay Professor Suryanarayana Doolla has been suspended until the investigation into the death of the Dalit student is completed.

But today, something different happened inside the IIT campus.

Students from various backgrounds came out in support of Professor Doolla and stood in solidarity with him.

According to the IIT administration, the student was allegedly caught cheating by Professor Doolla.

My view: If these allegations are true, Professor Doolla should be reinstated and compensated.
