What an incredible moment of friendship captured! This is the moment I was getting hooded by my sweet mother and husband. In the audience you can see 3 of my best friends standing, waving, and cheering me on!! I couldn't have done med school without their love and support 🥹🤎
This is my dear friend, Nakita.
Nakita and I were medical school classmates and both interns in New York City. Nakita tragically took her own life on May 26.
She is such a beautiful soul. She was so fun to be around. She was intelligent, charismatic, and confident. (1/x)
A young Black trans man was killed by armed security in SF at a Walgreens. There’s nothing in Walgreens that is worth a human life. SAY HIS NAME; BANKO BROWN.
It’s been 18 months since Wash. Heights’s OPC opened, so I wanted to share some stats:
Months 1-6; 6.8K visits, 2.7% OD rate.
Months 13-18: 10.6K visits, 1.2% OD rate.
Volume ⬆️ 57%, but OD rate ⬇️ 56%.
That is PREVENTION, and the value of earned trust between staff & pxs.
Five armed @Harvard police officers raided a dorm room in response to a false 911 call about an armed individual early Monday AM. The four Harvard seniors, who are Black, awoke to the banging on their door & were ordered into the hallway at gunpoint.

my first, first author, publication. this labor of love that started 3 years ago from my mom’s story of her birth and trauma, that morphed into a question about how speaking Spanish affects Latina women during birth, is now published and open access for all to read- hope u enjoy
I don’t often hear stories about the intimate emotional lives of Black men, even less for for African men. I wanted that to exist. And it wouldn’t have been possible without @Emanuelewithane encouraging me to pitch this idea before it was even a story
I have a story in TAL this week. Working on it entirely transformed my view of love. I cried making it. Actually I cried a couple times making it. But I also laughed my ass off and got butterflies in my stomach
Mail came, woo hoo! Lucky me to get to work with the inspiring & brilliant Helena Hansen and Jules Netherland.
