Seven years ago, on this day, Articles 370 and 35(A) became history, marking a decisive new chapter in the journey of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.

Since then, the lives of the people of J&K and Ladakh have witnessed wide-ranging transformation. Infrastructure has expanded, opportunities in areas such as education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and sports have grown. Be it the women or the marginalised communities, those who were denied their basic constitutional rights for decades have been empowered thanks to the full application of the Constitution of India.

5th August this year assumes even greater significance as this is the year our nation commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His lifelong commitment to national unity continues to inspire generations. What he envisioned decades ago found historic fulfilment on 5th August 2019.

We reaffirm our commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh and to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to dream big, achieve and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.

The 8th Global Strategic Alliance (GSA) SuperGrains & Millets Round Table, organized by the GSA with support of the Consulate General of India, brought together academicians, agricultural engineers, food entrepreneurs, policymakers, and health experts. Addressing the gathering, the Consul General emphasized that millets are the pathway to healthier diets as they have lower glycemic indices, no gluten and have more nutrients, they help sustainable agriculture, and improved public health. Hon. Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, Shri U.T. Khader Fareed, underscored the importance of including millets in daily diet and assured the Government of Karnataka's full support to promote millets. The Cook County Commissioner presented proclamations to the Hon. Minister and the Consul General, while GSA Founder & Chairman Dr. Vijay G. Prabhakar outlined a strategic roadmap for strengthening the India–U.S. Millet Partnership.

Today, the Union Cabinet approved the following decisions under the chairship of PM @narendramodi:

✅ A multi-tracking project worth Rs 1264 crore, covering three districts across Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh, which besides increasing the existing Indian Railways network by about 46 kms by 2028-29, will also enhance connectivity to approximately 99 villages.

✅ Scheme of Chemical Parks Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan’ (BHAVYA Rasayan) for establishing three dedicated Chemical Parks, running from FY 2026-27 to FY 2030-31, providing a Central grant of up to Rs 1000 crore per park. The Scheme will develop the chemical industry along the entire value chain, leading to lower logistics cost.
