Until 1932, Hindus owned Tirupati. Swami Hathi Ramji Math had full control.

In 1932, British forcibly took over and established TTD. In world war II, funds from the temple were diverted to finance British military operations. TTD owns the temple to this date.

Today, it turns out that TTD is a compromised body under whose watch temple food is mixed with beef. We have only achieved political freedom in 1947. Our temples are still reeling under British created bodies.
