@emi_cpl Are you working on a good algorithm for search and discoverability?
Something that doesn't always show the same results and doesn't put a 4.9star below all the 5s.
@DeepRockLabs @sjanus_pl@gamefromscratch You don't understand the game industry if you say this. You compete against so many games and your budget is extremely limited.
You don't have time to redo everything from scratch.
@ursinaengine@gamefromscratch Itch discoverability is very bad for tools. A proper asset store need a good algorithm otherwise people will not want to sell on it if they always show the same assets. And the new ones are hidden in the abyss.
@VickylanceMedia@reduzio@tarasov65536@godotengine I mean Godot currently cannot export to these platforms if you code in C#. It's a feature they want to add but no mention of when it will be available. I think this is the most important feature they need focus on.
@StoneGolemStud@ledgetthedwarf@unity So because of your opinion on free to play games, unity should make a model that is unviable for that model, completely burn it to the ground? And we should accept it?
@clemmygames retracting would be best because only trust would be lost. While in the other case there is also the monetary incentives so more people would switch.
@Pontypants@Anonymous808081 Godot is MIT licence so the community could just pick the
latest open source license and continue improving it from there. It cannot be changed.
@JustenGra I just think that a company should stay fair and transparent and simple in their monetization. A case by case basis isn't transparent and fair. And this new model isn't simple as there are too many undefined edge cases.
@AntoniaRForster If none of those are charged. What is the difference with a per-sale fee? And whatever the difference is. Can you explain how it will not greatly affect devs that would be charged with the per-download model but not under per-sale model?
@AntoniaRForster Seems really complicated to determine when it's charged and when it's not. How do you prove if an install is fraudulent or not? I don't think that's possible to determine.
