In my case, I felt the product is not there yet....need more tweaks....again and again.....wanted to make it perfect.

more coding and less marketing.

Now I know, it was a super bad strategy.

Exceptions include the .edu type domain owned by institutions that generally ve better DR.

But the biggest issue is: that you might lose potential customers at first because people will be searching for you under ".com" rather than the correct ext.
