File this under “I know someone probably already said it but I’m sayin’ it”… It’s funny to me that Young Thug has been arrested and brought up on charges but they still can’t seem to do the same with the KKK and the multitude of white supremecist groups.
Does anyone want to talk about how the current character assassination of Will Smith by other Black men is more about what they stand to lose than how they actually feel about what he did?
It’s interesting but not surprising to see how quickly Will & Chris have been dehumanized using the language of those who stole, enslaved and transported humans across a whole entire ocean to build a world these two men were never supposed to have access to.
Let’s just say I’m not surprised by how many ⚪️ comedians are now centering their safety in this here conversation that isn’t even about them. I also don’t have the energy to be disappointed. Y’all are a mess!!
Aye, white people:
When you discovered the phrase “fuck around and found out” six months ago and ran it into the ground…
What the hell did you think the “find out” part meant?
The reason why Will’s slap is under review and Chris’ joke isn’t is because they don’t actually want to make Hollywood safe for Black women, Black femmes, and Black gender non-conforming people. They want to continue to uphold the ⚪️ values that make the Oscars what it is.
Y’all let all these little ableist jokes slide before the pandemic and now a million people are dead.
You fuckers left us to die and expect us to laugh along with you at our expense.
Anyone want to talk about the incredibly detrimental impact this movie had on the Black community and how it also subsequently led to and fed the appropriation of Black hair styles and hair techniques by ⚪️ folks including but not limited to ⚪️ hairstylists?
Does anyone want to talk about how “Good Hair” tipped off large corporations (read; ⚪️ people) to how much money Black women spend on their hair which led to the hyper commodification of Black hair care brands, weaves, hair extensions etc?!?
