u know why they call it programming? Bcuz you’re being programmed through little screens, big screens, little morphine drips of sequels & prequels & zombies & kanyes, snapchats & grumpy cats, all designed by the corporate machine, & you’re asleep binge-watching the Apocalypse.
I think part of what makes this account’s work so satisfying is they are doing a form of pattern recognition that is computerlike in many ways but actually requires a soul to pull off. Proof humans are still on top
this is men's fault. this is entirely, unequivocally, objectively the result of men's destructive minds. they made the worst possible reality just to feed their ego
Dear white women. The Handmaids Tale did not "predict the future," it is without exaggeration based on the real treatment of Black and Indigenous people thru history. It HAS happened, its BEEN happening, its just for the first time it is happening to YOU. Get it together.
I'm not running for office. But if I were, these are some of the lessons I'd take away from what happened in NY yesterday.
1. Authenticity is measurable. Voters can smell a focus group from a mile away.
2. Endorsements from the current Democratic leadership now read like warnings. The establishment wing of the party is no longer a sword. It's a question mark.
3. Conviction beats caution. The candidates who said hard things about rent, about who pays for what, about Gaza, they won. The triangulators lost.
4. Cost of living is everything. Everything else is wallpaper.
5. The middle is not a strategy. It's an empty room. Voters reached past the establishment to grab someone who actually believes something.
6. Don't fear the base. Court it. The Democrats who ran from their own voters lost. The ones who ran toward them won.
7. If you want to lead a party you have to be willing to fight inside it. Mamdani didn't ask permission. He took the field.
The lesson under the lessons: the country is tired of being managed. People want to be led.
Ms. Rachel: "Where have you been, leaders? Did you not see these kids as kids because of where they were born? 20,000 children killed. 151 starved to death.
A quadcopter shooting a baby breastfeeding in a tent. Did you not think they had beating hearts like your kids? How can you go to sleep at night knowing you said nothing?"
Cmon…the entire western leadership was caught embroiled in the sexual trafficking of children and it didn’t cause a single uprising in any Epstein regime stronghold.
more people should take note of what happened here. They’ve set a legal precedent for criminalizing organizing by criminalizing literature.
You can get 30 years for a box of zines or pamphlets
A judge for the Texas trial openly admitted that the sentences are about deterrence, not establishing justice. This was a show trial designed to send a message, to deter people from attending protests because they might face decades of prison time for it.
Giving out life sentences for a box of zines doesn't discourage anarchists from engaging in direct action. It just means that, if we're risking a life sentence, the direct action should be worthy of that risk. Bringing back propaganda of the deed with these prison sentences.
A reminder that if they give out life sentences for this, actually blowing up buildings and downing cops leaves one in exactly the same position. "Go big or go home", the state seems to be saying. We'll see what kind of society shakes out from that.
