Countless human ways - varied by terrain/ climate/ flora/ fauna - of aligning and co-creating with this life intelligence. Unimaginable knowledge, wisdom, insight. All increasingly erased over these 500 years, w/no signs of stopping, no appreciation of what is being destroyed.
And by cultural threat I mean the sheer dominance of English over Indian languages in white collar industries. It's reputation as a status symbol and the fact that the top 10% of Indians are increasingly shifting to English as a first language.
Technically speaking English is a much bigger cultural threat to South Indian languages than Hindi, though it is seldom seen that way, as it is a second language to everyone hence no ethnic community has an advantage in it.
We also need to ensure more of the wild fruit and fodder trees are restored in their landscapes. Local/indigenous knowledge is key in strategizing climate response for community adaptation in drylands. Prolonged and severe drought will continue due to CC
