Our annual #IndianArrivalDay commemoration in partnership with @asiasociety was a spectacular, multi-sensory experience. We appreciate our partnership with the governments of Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and the city government in NYC.

#IndianArrivalDay honors the resilience of indentured Indians who journeyed across the Caribbean and beyond after emancipation. Indo-Caribbean communities have shaped the region’s culture, politics, & identity, leaving lasting legacies felt across the diaspora. #CaribbeanHistory
Wennie Chin was a beloved friend to so many of us, and it was our honor to have known her, worked with her, and been in community with her.
Please consider supporting her family during this difficult time and honoring Wennie's life and legacy ❤️🩹 https://t.co/eX6lwLjk8H
Today we honour the arrival of diverse peoples whose histories shape #Guyana. We celebrate resilience, diversity, and call for unity built on equality, dignity, and respect for all #Guyanese communities. #SASODGuyana#SASOD#ArrivalDay
As we celebrate Arrival Day and prepare to usher in our Diamond Jubilee, let us build a Guyana where every child, regardless of circumstance, can be protected and aspire to the best version of themselves.
Happy Arrival Day, Guyana! Let us move forward together: united, determined, and committed to a future where everyone belongs.
May 1st, 1857 is the day Indians arrived in Grenada. The island faced massive labour shortages after the Emancipation Act of 1833 freed enslaved Africans from the plantations. Some former slaves acquired land that took away from estate owners while others fled to nearby colonies.
We’re honored to partner with the @AsiaSociety to commemorate the 188th anniversary of #IndianArrivalDay. An evening of refreshments, performances, art and networking with some of the leading #IndoCaribbean folks in the diaspora awaits.
