लेबनान सत्तर साल में ईसाई बहुल राष्ट्र से मुसलमान बहुल राष्ट्र बन गया। ईसाई अपने देश में अल्पसंख्यक बन ���ए। लेबनान में वही ग़लतियाँ कीं जो भारत में हुईं।

1. मुसलमान रिफ्यूजी को आने देना
2. तुष्टिकरण और दबाव में लगातार पीछे हटना
3. हिंसा से बचने के लिए छूट देना
4. वामपंथियों का मुसलमानों के साथ आना
5. ईसाइयों के आपसी झगड़े, एकता का अभाव
6. बदलती धार्मिक आबादी पर ध्यान न देना

आबादी की धार्मिक संरचना बदलती है तो देश बदल जाता है। भारत के लोगों को इस बात को हल्के में नहीं लेना चाहिए।

लेबनान पहले ईसाई बहुल देश हुआ करता था। ये सौ साल पुरानी बात भी नहीं है।

1932 की जनगणना में भी ईसाई 53% थे। तब वहां की राजधानी बेरूत पेरिस की बराबरी का सुंदर और आधुनिक शहर माना जाता था।

जब वोटिंग सिस्टम आया तो संसद में लगभग साठ प्रतिशत स्थान ईसाइयों के लिए रखे गए।

फिर वहाँ ईसाई नेतृत्व को तुष्टिकरण का कीड़ा काटा। ज़्यादा ही सेक्युलर बनने का मन किया।

लेफ्ट ने वहाँ मुस्लिमों के साथ गठबंधन बना लिया। इससे बैलेंस बिगड़ गया।

ईसाइयों के पंथ एकजुट नहीं थे। इस बीच ढेर सारे मुस्लिम रिफ्यूजी लेबनान में बस चुके थे। लेबनान ईसाई बहुल से मुस्लिम बहुल बन चुका था।

वहाँ हिंसा भड़क गई। 16 साल गृह युद्ध चला। क��ी बहुसंख्यक रहे ईसाई पीछे हट गए।

लेबनान की संसद में ईसाई और मुसलमान बराबर बराबर चुने जाने लगे। फिर मुसलमान ज़्यादा चुने जाने लगे। शासन ईसाइयों के हाथ से फिसल गया।

अब लेबनान में 35% से कम ईसाई हैं। तेज़ी से विकसित हो रहे राष्ट्र में अब तबाही ही तबाही है।
