The Department of Pharmaceuticals has launched the New Discovery Track under the PRIP Scheme, offering financial assistance of up to ₹50 crore to startups and MSMEs for new drug discovery.

The initiative will support early-stage projects focused on New Chemical Entities and New Biological Entities, with at least 25% co-financing from institutional investors.

With a total outlay of ₹5,000 crore, the PRIP Scheme aims to accelerate indigenous innovation in pharmaceuticals and medical technology.

We are continuing to see reports about Indian nationals recruited into the Russian armed forces. Government has on several occasions over the past two years underlined the risks and dangers inherent in this course of action and advised Indian citizens from time to time to be cautious while pursuing job opportunities abroad and not get lured by any job offers from unverified individuals. We have also come across numerous instances wherein individuals are willingly seeking out offers to join the Russian armed forces with an understanding that they would be able to avail concomitant monetary benefits, and later secure release by approaching the Indian Government. Delhi: Responding to Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s remarks, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav questioned the role of ministers in addressing issues facing Bihar.

Yadav said, “It is all just for show. If you feel something is wrong and cannot fix it—despite being in the government and serving as a minister—then what is the point of holding that office? Just quit.”

He further questioned the Centre’s response to the flood and drought situation in Bihar and asked why the Prime Minister had not visited the affected areas. Taking a swipe at the Bihar government, Yadav asked, “What kind of double-engine government is this in Bihar? Is it a double-engine or a trouble-engine?”
