@mattyglesias Whether it's historically/genetically accurate, I was told this is where Thalassemia in India most likely came from, as genetically it was concentrated in the Mediterranean and Pakistan. (Many light-skinned Indians love to claim European ancestry, and find "proof" to back it up.)

@BirdBrklyn I saw a small raptor circling near my balcony in PLG (near SE corner of prospect park.) It had lots of dark spots on its white underbelly. It's the second time I've seen it. by the time I grabbed a camera, it was gone. Was it likely a Kestrel? Peregrine Falcon? Other?

@esaagar @SaveStandard No. #PermanentDST is the way! The sun should NEVER set before 5PM. It's better our dreary winter days have light from 8:30AM to 5:30PM. We'll still get 5:30 AM sunrises and 8:30PM sunsets in the long days of summer, but kids will have 2 hours of light after school in Winter.

@AlexHooper911 @esaagar @SaveStandard Right now, if you live in NYC like me, the latest sunrise at any point in the year is ~7:30, but that means in the shortest days of winter, the sun sets at 4:30. W/ permanent DST, on the shortest days you get 8:30 to 5:30 light. Long summer days will still be 5:30 to 8:30 light!

@CAKitchener Why is everyone acting like people can't subscribe again ? If enough people cancel, there's at least evidence to support fighting back. If you just say "oh, we're upset but there's nothing we can really do," then what is the point? It's all abt the bottom line.
