@welawaqeel689@Moonshine2jg5e I find Punjabi ethnic identity interesting cos the element of perceived common ancestry does not seem to matter. That gives it a powerful ability to assimilate but also makes it more arbitrary than tribalistic ethnic identities.
@murs_Kandhar@Gwahram99 I can assure you no Khetran has ever heard of a Jamote faction. It is possible (in fact even likely imo) that some people of Sindhi ancestry got absorbed into the Khetran fold but there is no proper sub-tribe as such.
I didn't mean to post my reply in episodes but life is busy.
@murs_Kandhar@Gwahram99 Anyway, the point is Khetran origins cannot be ascertained as purely Pashtun or purely Baluch. But they are a Baluch tribe by virtue of their historical socio-political alignment with the Baluch. They are culturally also much closer to the Baluch.
@Gwahram99@HasanMS_10016 Yeah, I thought the one below looked like Khetran and the one above looked like Katyani or something (I'm terrible at reading Nastaliq). Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing this.
@Gwahram99@HasanMS_10016 Interesting. I thought Khatiyan were considered a Sindhi Sammat clan...? I belong to the Khetran tribe and I have not heard of this connection before.
@Gwahram99@HasanMS_10016 Are they Hasni Khetrans or Hasnis independent from Khetrans?
Anyway, Musakhel? The Jafar tribe speaks a similar dialect, albeit probably with more Pashto admix since they are Pathans.
