The end result of childhood trauma is: avoidance. You stay in toxic relationships, in toxic careers, you overspend even when in debt, and tiptoe around people to avoid confrontation. The feeling of helplessness is becomes too consuming.
Big night at @cpmssports last night! They hosted two championship basketball games (congrats 7th boys!!), AND they hosted a huge girls wrestling invitational which included these FIFTEEN Warriors!! Job well
done to all involved! The future is so bright for our programs!
HOW INSECURE ATTACHMENT PATTERNS SHOW UP AT WORK:
- fear of being seen
- belief that your work isn’t ‘good’ enough
- obsessive comparison
- communication issues
- replaying conversations with boss or co-works obsessively
- fear of asking for promotion/higher pay after you bring more value
- obsessive overworking/productivity
- lack of boundaries: working on weekends or time off without ever placing a limit
@ChaseTMAnderson Chase, educating extroverts to change lack of awareness, misunderstanding about us...I wonder if we need an International Introvert Day as a vehicle for an awareness campaign? ( As an HSP introvert, I feel anxiety at the thought of taking it on though)
Justifying your choices (over-explaining) before you’re even questioned about them shows your nervous system is in a stress state. Be aware of this pattern. When you feel that impulse to explain, don’t. Notice how differently people respond to you when you practice being assertive. You’re no longer that child who will be punished— you’re an adult capable of making decisions in your own best interest. Own that.
Childhood trauma creates a core belief that we’re a burden. This is why it’s hard for us to ask for our needs to be met. Or even feel like it’s ok to have needs. Learning to meet your own needs is a key part of healing trauma.
It restores self trust.
@rabiasquared I read what Warren Buffet said was the best book he ever read. It was by Malinda Gates and I got so bored, almost finished it, but didn't, yet I am frequently reminded of the truth of the book.
@created_byus Terrible service. Buy local.
Business owners hiding behind phone lines and emails might respond differently if they had the experience of looking that client in the eye as they take their money.
@bgirl171 @michaelharriot I would not order from them for a client. It is unlikely it will be delivered in a timely fashion and the amount of time you will spend on the phone with FragilePak will eat up any profit or good will you have worked so hard for.
Texans fans may remember @DARRYLSHARPTON from his linebacker days. He’s killing it in the business world now as CEO of Albany Park furniture. He’s also a great +1 at a gala
@StructuredSucc The work of Dr. Patricia Quinn is so important in this area. Executive dysfunction creates eating disorders in women that do not meet the diagnostic criteria for common eating disorders but have negative implications for metabolic disease.
