In 2007 Douglas Alexander said the only way to achieve Scottish independence was for the SNP to win a majority in a Holyrood election and then a majority in an Indyref.
This could come back to haunt the new Scottish Secretary. He won't want this retweeted.
The SNP minority gov wanted to dual in 2007, but opposition parties voted for the money to be used for the Edinburgh tram project. Lib Dems described dualling as a “grand gesture” and that “it is important to break the link between economic growth and transport growth”. Oh dear
@magnusllewellin Meanwhile back in the land facts …. there are more Scottish pupils attending university than ever before and ScotGov funding for universities is at a record high. There is no stated intent by ScotGov to reduce the number of places available.
@CalumRoss23 For the hard of hearing at the back …. It’s Scottish councils who are responsible for delivery. The Scottish Government made the money available years ago ….. 🙄
@alexmassie Alex Massie is paid to lie. That’s his job. So, I suppose he’s quite right when he says it’s absolutely not his job to respect the electorate’s political views…..
@DeanMThomson Good reasons why energy-rich Scotland neither needs, nor should want, to produce nuclear energy to send to energy-poor England

@KennyFarq Just leaving this here for future reference …yesterday England’s elected government legislated to circumvented its citizens own human rights in order to facilitate people trafficking . And Scotland’s government legislated to expand and enshrine the legal rights of its children.
@KennyFarq Starmer’s idiot cheerleaders really jumping the shark now….according to KFarq here, Democracy does not exist to reflect your political views ….it exists only to allow one group of tories to periodically replace another group of tories 🙄
I have been called a liar when i posted the information below by unionists. No wonder they are not pro indy when they can't research and are disbelieving of Scotland's true inovation and potential. I have posted many links now. Waiting on appologies.
I love this reasoning: "We have to win over Tories in order to get Labour in to power. To do so we have to adopt Tory polices otherwise we'll never remove the, er, Tories" This line of thinking is more common than you think 🇬🇧😳

@staylorish Even more Bonkers . Sam here casting his wee Tory boy Starmer as a cheerleader of fascist vandalism is quite the look 🤣Putin’s mafia-style leadership also introduced ‘entrepreneurial’ ‘meaningful change……can’t wait to see Starmer’s next wee puff piece on ‘strong leaders’ 🙄
@RoddyQC @hmcafonso Takes a special kind of fool to think increasing turnover whilst massively reducing profit is in some way worth defending …..in reality , it’s the fastest way to go out of business 🙄
just for the record, I don’t think Alistair Darling made any difference to the indyref result. He wasn’t impressive. The real impact of the debates was that Alex Salmond was absolutely shite and simply ludicrously unprepared on currency and blew it
You got to love the Scotsman, the day after this polling their front page is 'Do you hate cold mornings' Laura Waddell, 'Maybe Finland has the answer' and 'Are more people saying no to the mince pie?' All crucial Qs I know ...
@RealStephenKerr Irony just died..
The idiot Kerr’s Tory party has just been found to have wasted £100BILLION …..and all he can do is bump his gums on Twitter about the mis-use of a few sheets of A4 🙄
