I'm having major spinal fusion surgery on July 8 for a severely degenerated disc in my lower back. Since February, it's left me disabled, unemployed, and without any income.

My doctors originally told me the injury to my L5-S1 disc was a herniation. However, I found out in late May that it's also severely degenerated and has lost most of its height. Here's a picture of my lumbar spine MRI- the degenerated disc is circled.
