For many years now, my people have been showing the whole world what is happening in Ukraine, and what the russians are doing to our country, our people, and our cities. You often see lines like: "When will the world finally hear us?", "World, don’t close your eyes," or "Please, don’t stay silent." Last night, the russians struck Zaporizhzhia and Sumy again-as always, brutally and mercilessly, as if we Ukrainians are not human beings, but just a testing ground, a place where they can do whatever they want with impunity, because it’s "war," after all.

This morning, I see my people showing the world the horrific footage of another terrible night; as always, only the names of the cities change. And yes, the world sees everything, the world hears, the world is not silent. But what is the point of it all? What can an ordinary person from any European country really do on a global scale? We have already heard every kind of condolence, and every prayer in the world has been addressed to Ukrainians and Ukraine.

Half of 2026 is already behind us. Perhaps the world has just grown accustomed to someone else’s pain. Or maybe this war has dragged on so long that everyone is starting to feel hopeless and powerless... Honestly, I don't know anymore. But I do know one thing: silence is not an option. Yet, appealing to the world no longer makes sense-everyone already knows, sees, and hears everything. And the russians act as if this is their world, or as if they’ve simply taken the wheel and are dictating the rules of impunity... I don’t even know how to end this text.

8 апреля 2022 года россияне ударили ракетой Точка-У с кассетной боеголовкой по железнодорожному вокзалу в Краматорске во время эвакуации людей. На тот момент там находилось более 500 человек.
Под удар попали железнодорожный перрон, находившийся рядом поезд, который уже был частично заполнен пассажирами и автомобильная парковка.
Одно из самых зверских и циничных военных преступлений россиян.
Погибли десятки, пострадали более ста человек.
Это нельзя забывать.

A Kherson resident I know shared this photo: "Artillery just hit our neighborhood. One shell hit a playground.

A family I knew well was there. The father of four was killed. The mother and youngest daughter are hospitalized, in critical condition."

Russian artillery shelling of Kherson killed a man. His wife and two daughters, aged six and three, were injured - they suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.

The family was at a children's playground at the moment of the attack.

On May 28th 2024, the 21-year-old Polish soldier Mateusz Sitek was fatally stabbed by an illegal migrant while defending Poland’s border wall with Belarus.

The migrant thrust an improvised lance through a gap in the border fence during an attempted breach by a group of migrants, hitting Mateusz in the chest.

The young soldier succumbed to his wounds nine days later.

The migrant disappeared into the forest in the Belarusian side and was never caught.
