The Catholic Church will open the first Catholic school in Finland in 2026.
The institution will implement the Finnish national curriculum, enriched by a Catholic foundation in its moral and cultural teachings.
This initiative coincides with a demographic shift as the Catholic community continues to expand across Finland.
I am just now on a @airBaltic flight from Vienna to Riga, sending this video through @Starlink from the test I just did for performing live remote operations control loop "fuse check" with a PTZ camera, connected over underground mine WIFI! That is real-time control loop over 2 radio links from an AIRPLANE! 🤯
Let me say it again: I just controlled a PTZ camera 1300km away in a Finnish mine, 400m underground, using WiFi & XRTC-accelerated RTSP via AWS. Real-time control from 30,000ft! ✈️
People have no idea what business value is being unlocked! 👷

¡VIVA LA LIBERTAD CARAJO! 🔥
Yes, but! We need to distinguish between what in our society we need to drive towards zero and what we need to drive towards infinity. Only then we are in position to do this? 🤔
The first question to ask is: What societal aspects should be driven toward zero? 📉
For example, house fires should be driven towards zero. Yet, we still want to have the best-trained firefighters with top-notch gear ready to go, focusing on training and research on how to maximize safety and drive incidents towards zero. Similarly, we want to drive crime towards zero, while having highly trained police force well equipped in standby, focusing on training and research on how to maximize security and drive criminal activity towards zero.
What other societal issues, such as diseases, should be driven toward zero? 🚒🔥🚨🚔👮
Currently, in the US we don't see incentives aligned with private prisons that rely on full utilization of cells to maximize profit. There is nothing evil going on, for they are just fulfilling legal requirement of private companies to maximize shareholder value. Nor do we see incentives of society and healthcare aligned in private hospitals that require all beds to be occupied for maximum revenue.
Yet, we somehow intuitively understand that hearing fire truck sirens is bad thing and fire fighters just practicing is ideal for society and nobody asks "why do we need these guys loitering?"
We do not want fire department for asking subscription or else they will not set down fire, or the mafia style of encouraging people to “buy their subscription because world is dangerous place". This is why private security companies are not aligned with what police force is supposed to do.
It should be acceptable to have empty prisons, police calmly patrolling, empty hospital beds with doctors busy doing research, much like we do not want to see fire trucks with sirens rushing towards scene of despair but firefighters at the gym preparing for the what if.
The second question to ask is: What societal aspects should be driven toward infinity? 📈
We should also focus on maximizing societal effects that benefits life, such as a competitive marketplace of telecom operators that satisfies the demand for more data, faster and more reliably. In Finland, for example, the average person consumes 10x more mobile data than average Joe in US. Why? Just because the market has healthy competition driving prices towards zero and network availability towards maximum.
This was the result of 90s madness when we had tens of telecom operators competing for consumers and out of those handful are left with unlimited data-plans as default option.
Similarly, no advanced society has thrived without maximizing its use of energy. We should aim to maximize energy availability and abundance. Here, free-market capitalism paired with fair competition, safeguarded by freedom maximizing laws is essential, not legal warfare that restricts entrepreneurial freedom and restricts commerce. We should maximize access to space, as shown by SpaceX, and have regulatory bodies that has goal to enable such activities without restricting competition.
Freedom does not mean anarchy, freedom means that we establish safeguards that none of us can restrict the freedom of each others in participating on the marketplace. That is why legislation, judiciary system and law enforcement is required. To serve us, in maintaining our individual freedoms. Lack of freedom is anarchy where the one with least principles and morals can use their position of power on enforcing their will on others. This type of fake freedom leads to slavery in its various sophisticated and primitive forms.
We need to be clear on what direction we want for each aspect of society? 🎯
In Finland, unfortunately, we are undermining our education system by not maximizing the availability of education. Similarly, we are compromising public health by implementing schemes that mix worst aspects of socialistic schemes with capitalistic profiteering, resulting in misaligned incentives that prioritize profit over well-being.
Just to give contrast to US: Insurance is just a mechanism of pretending there is no tax collection for health care, while in practice this is just outsourced private tax collection. Nothing else. Same way healthcare provision to private hospitals is fundamentally similar in Nordic countries, where the state collects taxes and provides healthcare services. With capitalistic characteristics as the Chinese would say, meaning this may not be most effective way for things we want to drive to zero.
The key difference lies in how fairness is maintained across all citizens. In the Nordic healthcare system, state-collected taxes fund public healthcare that is universally accessible, ensuring that no one is left out, be it marginal cases, individuals requiring expensive treatments, or those with low incomes. There is no profit incentive to exclude high-cost or unprofitable patients; the system is designed to prioritize the well-being of all citizens equally. This enables driving sickness towards zero.
In contrast, when private entities manage both funding AND provision of healthcare, there is immediately incentive for example to deny coverage or avoid expensive operations. The Nordic model had some good properties to combat these misaligned incentives by removing profit from the equation, but for example now in Finland even public healthcare operates on “maximum profitability” style of KPIs. While the costs of healthcare keep growing.
Finland is heading towards the inefficiencies of US healthcare system. We see the opposite effect to the Finnish telecom market. In US the cost and effectiveness of healthcare is 10x in negative direction. Unhealthy citizens with 10x the cost of Finland. This is not the 10x we want for aspects of society that should be driven to zero. How to profit form zero sickness?
So the question remains 👀
Which societal issues should we drive toward zero (e.g., areas that do not inherently align with profit motive and bread corruption through misaligned incentives)? Oppositely, which societal benefits should we aim to drive toward infinity (e.g., areas that flourish with competition but are susceptible to corruption and regulatory capture if not managed correctly)?
By distinguishing these two, we can build a society where @RobertKennedyJr can work toward minimizing sickness, @realDonaldTrump can focus on maximizing energy availability and @elonmusk can help us expand humanity towards the stars.
These issues are maybe the biggest problems we have not yet figured out as humanity 🌎💕

Vinimos a romperla.
Argentina’s new president @JMilei explains the Cantillon Effect, or how printing money benefits the first receivers of money at the expense of everyone else.
To me, this is @JMilei's best speech so far, every sentence is a memorable quote!
I cut and translated it so the international audience can enjoy our Philosopher-President too 🇦🇷
