I've already seen some say they cant bring him back due to the lawsuits. well lawsuits can last for years... so.... are we actually going to wait that long? the main story will have to be changed at that point and that means valko (if he does come back then) would already be a fundamentally different character.

all modern graphics have hit a plateau and have diminishing returns. no more detail is going to make it that more impressive. game studios have to bring back stylization in their games.

thankfully FF has been consistent in its visual identity.

I honestly didn't expect Final Fantasy XIII to hold up this well next to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

There's a 15-year gap between these games, but visually, it's nowhere near as big as you'd think.

@Kryzai1 @adarealm1 100%. ive seen people express skepticism over the gamescon hopium and then ive seen others make posts calling others to block those people over doomposting. at the same time they also say to not believe any rumors.
i dont like how its all turned into this.

From what I’ve observed, I think the situation looks more like this. 🤔

On the CN side, a lot of people already left when Valko was announced. They lost around 2M followers, and quite a number of players openly protested against adding a 6th ML.

Then Valko was cancelled, and another group left. This second wave seems to include Valko fans, but also ordinary players who didn’t necessarily main him and simply fed up with CDG, and thought the whole situation was absurd enough to make PPG untrustworthy.

So ironically, both groups that left share one thing >> distrust in PPG, just for completely opposite reasons.

One side lost trust because PPG introduced Valko when they didn’t want or weren’t ready for another ML. The other lost trust because PPG cancelled Valko, the core character, and bow to the antis.

this is a very level headed analysis and ive thought the same. its clear that various groups stopped playing/spending for various reasons. its unclear which side had more influence. im hoping the additional data ppg has access to makes the distinction between the two groups clear. because if its still obscure which side had more impact even with their additional data points.. it might be hard for them to make any changes from the current status quo.

@yyy432504284608 i don't think that will happen. i think its more likely that they will stop fighting eventually either by quitting the community or playing the game again as normal. i dont see them changing.

The whole lads community assuming that anyone who doesn’t share their views on the boycott is a secret anti spy trying to manipulate public opinion.. is really annoying + toxic.

Nuance is not accepted and neither is any grace afforded to trying to understand differing pov. there are also some translation issues from various community members.

I don’t see how infighting adds any positive contribution. I also don’t understand how those that advocate for anti-harassment and not believing ‘rumors’ don’t see the double standard when they harass others and they believe positive rumors.

I’ve seen people express opinions about the whole gamescon thing that wasn’t optimistic and people made posts rallying others to block them for doomposting.

Being realistic isn’t bad actually. It actually maintains endurance so you aren’t on an emotional rollercoaster and get hurt when something doesn’t happen.

this community is just in a terrible place right now. The toxicity is not only from those that hate valko but also from those that love him too.
